The people the ocean brings together truly continues to be one of the greatest aspects of this wild underwater journey.

For as long I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the people behind the incredible imagery we see on wildlife documentaries, the hidden masters who fill the David Attenborough documentaries we all grew up with.

Despite being some of the most talented creatives amongst us, more often than not these ghost like operators are also the most unknown. Largely due to fully immersing and consuming themselves in mastering the art of capturing never seen before natural beauty and behaviours.

@rogermunns is one of these rare individuals. Deeply dedicated to a lifetime underwater and to bringing the unseen beauty of our oceans to the word. Last month I had the privilege of working alongside Roger and a much larger extended team, and it taught me far more than I could have expected.

I can’t say much more about it yet, but I’m really looking forward to being able to share more around this exciting project soon, along with announcing that we will be offering tailored marine life experiences for aspiring and established filmmakers in the very near future. by @rogermunns

Closed Circuit Rebreathers are truly an amazing tool...

No bubbles means no noise which meant I spent several minutes with this sleeping juvenile sperm whale without disturbing its peaceful, vertical slumber. An amazing privilege to be so close, for so long, to such a large charismatic animal.

A single bumphead parrotfish creates around 200 pounds of sand each year. So since I first met them at Sipadan 25 years ago this school will have produced over 600,000 lbs of grade A sand. The same weight as a Boeing 747 ✈️ or 9.6million baby 🦔’s

It was such an honor to be invited join in the world manta day celebrations with the @mantatrust team at the stunning Four Seasons Resort at Landaa Giraavaru

Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a wonderful experience. It was great to share some of my work in the natural history conservation film-making field with the attendees alongside a presentation from @mantaguy on 20 years of collaboration between @fsmaldives and the Manta Trust.

It was also such a treat to catch up with the manta trust family, fellow patrons, trustees, and research team.

If you love mantas please do follow the @mantatrust for conservation news, scientific research and tonnes of stunning manta images in your feed!

After 25 years and many thousands of hours underwater around the world I finally broke a life promise and went for a dive in England 😅

The site was chosen for me and it was (obviously) a quarry, with 2m vis and a water temp of around 14°C even in the middle of summer.

It was an absolute pleasure to share the very green experience with @marksharmancam while we completed our @gates.underwater STO course on the dual 8K Black Magic Cine Immersive camera inside a Gates housing.

Thanks so much to Gates, @richstevenson.uk @dave.blackham and @waterproofmedia.tv for putting on the course for us. Looking forward to putting this rig to the test in slightly better conditions back home in Malaysia soon taken in Vobster Quay Inland Diving Centre by @rogermunns
