The bikes came first.

That first photo is my brother and me in 1992. The bikes on the car. A mountain-bike racing bug that never really went away.

The other photos are from Unbound this year. Different bike, different terrain, a few more years on the clock. Same feeling when I get to ride.

If we haven’t met: I’m Matt Scarborough. I’m a trial lawyer, the founder of Scarborough Bicycle Accident Law, and someone who’s been riding and racing since the early ’90s.

I built a firm focused on cyclists because I know a bike isn’t just a piece of property or a line on an insurance claim. It’s freedom, friendships, training, adventure—sometimes the best part of your day. When a crash interrupts that, riders deserve a team that understands what they’ve lost and is ready to do the work.

This page is for the people who ride—and for anyone who wants safer roads and more people on bikes.

What—or who—first got you riding? Tell me in the comments. I’d love to hear your story.

— Matt

Unfortunately, my season was over before I had the chance to go to @gatewaycupstl and fight for a top 5, so finishing in the top 10 wasn’t bad either—especially for my first year competing in the best Masters event in the country @usamasterscup, against some of the best competitors at the highest level.

If everything continues to go well, I’ll see if I can give it another try next year and improve on this result.

A big thank you to @scarborough_matthew @bicycleaccidentlaw and @bikehustler72 @pioneermortgagefunding @jbbikeshop @uwmlending for their incredible support. Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible. And, of course, a huge thanks to my family, friends, and training partners for all their support along the way. @trek_land_o_lakes @perfectfitfixride @edwinbicycles @citrusparkbikes2011 @rttcycling @hdezsofia03 @enquiromasajenuria @evazhang_rttcycling @jerezfrank97 @the.cowboy.cyclist @r.osmay @pabloasantacruz @jaimito_92 @ciclismoelx @rubenrojoalvarez @dansull1van @chrisle711 @heidy_praderas @hanly_rxs_ @ale_ramirezzr @keith.legg73 @oscarbikes11 @heydertommy @difv61 @sdrabott @haroldbatista2 @eveliovarona.reyes @evannnboyle @aylena_quevedo @ezshredder @omdahleric @cuban_cycling_passion @zoicentro_ @jvalerofisio @anthony_yaness @mundo_bike_elche @davidp064 @hectorshabitat @divineinfx @jeromenadel @doug.zell @ross_cyclist_realtor @jacobglasstu @sarahhoal21 @gonebald @fraanmarcoo__ @just_mboults @ultimatetim_j @aylena_quevedo by @rolylabala

With a couple of kilometers to go, I was in a perfect position for the sprint, right behind @chrisle711 and @luis_raboigat , who were riding strong as always. Thanks to that, there wasn’t much left in the ⛽️ tank to go for the 🏆 . Great ride today by everyone—always fun!!🤩 @pioneermortgagefunding @bicycleaccidentlaw @jbbikeshop @ciclismoelx @rolylabala @fcochicodeguzman @romanburruazo @diegorubio.mentalista #cycling #ciclismo #friends #amigos #training taken in Elche, Alicante, Spain by @rolylabala

And after my pull, everything started to get very spicy, and eventually a group of six broke away. I had to close a couple-minute gap by myself 🥵 @pioneermortgagefunding @bicycleaccidentlaw @jbbikeshop @ciclismoelx @rolylabala @luis_raboigat @chrisle711 @romanburruazo @josenyiguez @fcochicodeguzman #cycling #nopainnogain #friends #training #elche taken in Elche, Alicante, Spain by @rolylabala

Halfway into the worst headwind section, so I went up to help a bit at the front. @pioneermortgagefunding @bicycleaccidentlaw @jbbikeshop @ciclismoelx @rolylabala @fcochicodeguzman @romanburruazo @josenyiguez @chrisle711 @luis_raboigat @diegorubio.mentalista #cycling #ciclismo #friends #amigos #training taken in Elche, Alicante, Spain by @rolylabala

The art 🖼️ of getting boxed 📦 in during the sprint 🏁… a skill I apparently mastered today. 🤪😂🚴💨. Fun 🎥 🏁. Winner 🏆 🥇 of the day was @ale_ramirezzr @mbo_racing_team_ , 🥈 @jaimito_92 @pioneermortgagefunding , 🥉 @camcraig007 @thebikelabusa , 4th @keith.legg73 @the.cowboy.cyclist and 5th 📦😜@rolylabala @pioneermortgagefunding @bicycleaccidentlaw @jbbikeshop @rttcycling , @heidy_praderas @kingdomeliteracingteam @dansull1van Orlando Garcia #cycling #ciclismo #nopainnogain #friends #amigos taken in Suncoast Trail by @rolylabala

Caught the two flyers, @dansull1van and @camcraig007 , and went for a sneaky 😈 😏 attack this time with @keith.legg73 . We didn’t last long, but we kept it spicy—and that’s what matters most! @pioneermortgagefunding @bicycleaccidentlaw @the.cowboy.cyclist @trek_land_o_lakes #cycling #nopainnogain #friends #training #living taken in Suncoast Trail by @rolylabala
