This is not the Google search history of a killer, Bella ✨✨✨ It’s just a bunch of fictional nonsense from when my brain stops working or I realize the depths of my ineptitude 😂 Writers, what’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever googled for a story? Drop it in the comments. I need to know I’m not alone 😅🫠 #WritingCommunity #AmWriting #WritersOfInstagram #AuthorLife #maysondrew by @romancingthedrafts
Hi 👋 I'm Mayson! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a writer on a mission to turn a fantasy-romance daydream into a real-life novel! Right now I’m deep into drafting a story that blends myth, magic, and romance—with a few secrets I can’t wait to share when the time is right ✨ Now a little about me— I live in the PNW and am married to the LOML 🥹 We have three boys, ages 6, (almost) 4, and (almost) 2! I decided to start writing to challenge myself and BOY has it been a challenge!! 🤣 Emily Henry got me back into reading, but ACOTAR was the nail in the proverbial coffin for me 😆 That said, The Empyrian Series has my heart currently! #shalligetthewingleader 😘 When I’m not writing/reading I’m working a full time and a part time job (as well as being a SAHM) and yes I know I’m crazy 🤣 I also love to go thrifting and play piano (not simultaneously) 🎹 You can find me listening to John Van Deusen all day every day ☺️ Follow along for behind-the-scenes writing chaos, cozy bookish vibes, and the occasional dramatic stare into the void. Let's romance some drafts! 🌀 by @romancingthedrafts
THE CURSES WE CARRY is my 120,000-word adult romantasy debut that poses a gender-twist on the classic Beauty and the Beast tale, crossed with the folkloric longing and loss represented in Lord Huron’s concept album, Strange Trails. Fans of One Dark Window (Rachel Gillig), Quicksilver (Callie Hart), and For the Wolf (Hannah Whitten), will find intrigue in Riordan’s story. I hold a doctorate in sociology, and have co-authored several research articles. As a sociologist and mother of three boys, I believe stories that encourage men to learn the impact and importance of processing and working through their emotions are especially relevant in our society today. THE CURSES WE CARRY aims to achieve this goal. Thank you for your consideration! Please comment or DM me with any questions! 🖤🖤🖤 @joypit_pitch_event #joypit #JoypitARomantasy #JoypitRomantasy #JoypitFairytaleRetelling #JoypitAFairytaleRetelling All images are from Canva stock images. by @romancingthedrafts
Bat Boys forever 🦇 🖤✨🏔️ The midnight release of ACOSH was everything we dreamed it would be ✨ ✨Pro-Tip: Find yourself a friend you can dress up in ridiculous costumes with—you won’t regret it and you will make the most amazing memories 🤣🖤 @thealexisquin So, have you started reading it yet?! 🩷🧡💛 #maysondrew #bookstagram #fantasyromance #acotar #sarajmaas by @romancingthedrafts
The return on investment is unlocking another world that’s alive and well in my head 😂 I can say I’ve spent ✨ years ✨ writing, revising, second-guessing, researching, brainstorming, rewriting, querying, editing, and emotionally investing in my fictional reality that has noooo plans to pay my bills as of late 😘 Yet I am here, doing it, because it matters to me. Because while it may not “add up”, I wanted to prove to myself that I could write a book, and I have. The absolute NERVE to pursue a creative dream deserves a highlight on your LinkedIn profile 💁🏻‍♀️ What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve done to pursue a dream? 🖤🖤🖤 Slide 4 with @thealexisquin I will never stop laughing at this 🤣🤣🤣 #writingcommunity #amwri̇ti̇ng #authorjourney #maysondrew writinglife by @romancingthedrafts
Your TBR is chaotic. Ours is too. 🫡📚 Bookish Besties is LIVE on Whatnot tomorrow! Our main theme? A Court of Thorns and Roses theories, because obviously we have thoughts 😂 Can you believe we are only a few weeks out from book 6 dropping!!!?? We’ll also be bringing all the spooky season vibes, chatting about what we’ve been reading/watching (thoughts on The Love Hypothesis adaptation anyone??), and diving into this month’s book club pick: The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. ⚠️ Haven’t read it yet? CRAM QUICK. There may be spoilers tomorrow night. 👀 Plus… spooky-season books will be up for grabs. 👻📚 Come hang out, spiral with us, and be weird with us. We expect you to show up in the chat! 😘 🖤 Link in bio. #bookstagram #bookclub #readingcommunity #maysondrew #bookishlove by @romancingthedrafts
Writing a book has apparently ruined my ability to behave normally. 😂 Writers, what’s your weirdest “this is completely normal to me now” habit? 👇🖤 #maysondrew #onwriting #writingcommunity #writersofinstagram #authorlife by @romancingthedrafts
The things I’ve done for people who don’t exist…🤣 ✏️Writers: what’s the silliest/wildest/randomest thing you’ve done for your story? 📚Readers: what’s tiny detail do you ALWAYS notice and appreciate (or not!) 🖤🖤🖤 📸 @thealexisquin @bathandbodyworks thanks for all your inspiration (slide 5😘) #writingcommunity #writinghumor #bookstagram #maysondrew #romantasy by @romancingthedrafts
What if finding your next 5-star read was only half the fun? 👀 Bookish Besties is a book club / live interactive podcast built around one of my favorite parts of reading: the people. 📚🤎 It’s for readers who want to: ✨ discover books they might not have picked up on their own ✨ actually talk about what they’re reading ✨ meet other readers who get it ✨ make friendships that extend beyond the last page Because sometimes you don’t just want a new favorite book; you want someone to scream about it with!!! 🫶 That’s what we wanted to create with Bookish Besties—and I’m we’re SO effing excited to see where this community goes. If you’ve been looking for your bookish people… come find us. 🤎 Link in bio!! #BookClub #BookishCommunity #Bookstagram #ReadersOfInstagram #BookLovers @thealexisquin by @romancingthedrafts
Sometimes the story you want to tell, isn’t the story you end up writing. Sometimes your characters have different ideas 😅 They may throw you a wrench in the middle of your thoughtfully crafted plan🫠 But I’ve found that it’s best to lean in, not fight against it ✨ The story is inside you, and the characters are there to help you pull it out. Let it happen. You never know where it will take you 🖤 🖤 🖤 #onwriting #romantasy #maysondrew #writersofinstagram #bookish by @romancingthedrafts
I started writing because I had the sudden urge to challenge myself in a way I hadn’t been challenged before. It didn’t hurt that I had come up with a story I really wanted to see come to fruition. That said, I didn’t expect this writing journey to lead me to so many of you—writers who GET IT! Readers who genuinely care. Friendships that go beyond liking a post on Instagram. It’s what got me and my bestie to the BESTIE level! I think it’s become one of my favorite parts of this whole process. So when @thealexisquin and I created Bookish Besties, this was the heart behind it. Writing doesn’t have to be lonely. Our show got pushed back, but we’ll be here on 9/16—and we’d love to have you with us. Link in bio to save the date!📚 Come find your people🖤 #writingcommunity #bookstagram #author #maysondrew #newfriendships by @romancingthedrafts
For every, “what the hell am I doing” moment, there are so many moments that make it all worth it… 🖤Chatting with readers and getting hyped by other authors here on Instagram. 🖤The moment your characters start speaking to you off the page. 🖤Typing “The End” for the first time. 🖤 A beta reader relating to the characters you invented. If you’re on a writing journey too, I hope you know you’re not alone 🖤 (Yes that’s me running around in the field 🤣. Shoutout to @thealexisquin for her stellar photography skills) #AuthorJourney #AmWriting #RomantasyAuthor #maysondrew #writingcommunityofinstagram by @romancingthedrafts
