BEST WEEKEND EVER.

This weekend was such an emotional rollercoaster for so many reasons. First of all, my a cappella group @maizemirchi won first place at quarterfinals!!

I also somehow won THREE AWARDS (still can’t even begin to describe it) for Outstanding Vocal Percussion, Outstanding Arrangement with my friend @shuyaz_ , and Oustanding Choreography for the entire set with my friend @milan.thurman .

I’ve put so much time into growing and developing as an arranger and vocal percussionist, so i’m incredibly happy to receive these awards! As a CHOREOGRAPHER I am so shocked and happy to receive this award, and it is another skillset I developed through creating this set.

To have taken such a large role in arranging and choreographing the entire set means so so much to me, and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I worked SO HARD and put in SO MANY long and grueling hours into this set, and I’m so proud that all the hard work paid off. ❤️🖤🩶

BUT WAIT, THAT’S NOT ALL!

This year I made a huge new step into the teaching world and took on the position of co-director of Ann Arbor Skyline High School’s award-winning and iconic a cappella group, @aaskylineblues .

It’s been so fun and such a rewarding journey every step of the way working with these talented students, and I was fortunate enough to arrange their entire set.

This weekend at our competition, blues won 1st place, and got awards for Outstanding Soloist, Outstanding Choreography, and Outstanding Vocal Percussion! I’m so proud of these kids and I can’t wait to see what we do next at semifinals!🩵🩵🩵

And above all else, I’m so thankful to @varsityvocals , and most importantly @emflanvv for creating such a safe and creative space for me to present myself as an artist these last 4 years of my life. You guys have always worked so hard to let us choir and a cappella kids do our thing and share it with the world, and I’m forever thankful for you.

What an end to a perfect weekend, a satisfying new beginning as a director, and my special last competition at hill auditorium.
