🔥 Society might be on fire but so are the book recommendations! . 💀 What is even in the water lately? The mens are off their rockers, the wars are raging, climate change is buckin. I’m just trynna live and live right over here! Luckily we have books to help us make sense of the world and feel a little more seen. . 💔 Interested in a translated novel about women who decide to suck the blood from their stalkers and grape-ists? Or a translated historical novel about an Irish officer who discovers violence in colonial India and decides to dive deeper? Or the true story of Arctic survival (that we’ll conveniently ignore has British imperial motivations) because it’s literally the passion project of a plucky journalist?! . ➡️ Read the full issue at ronareads.substack.com or via link in bio! . ☕️ How do you manage stress? What are your favorite comfy activities? I like to eat good meals and spend time with my family. Fez wishes I wouldn’t, lol. . . . . . . . . . . #ronareads #ronareader #bookrecs #bookrecommendations #bookrecomendation ➡️ Read the full issue at ronareads.substack.com or via link in bio! ✨💔💅🏻 💗🎻💅🏻⚰️🙋‍♀️ This is how we cope!!!!!!! by @ronareads4u

✨ September Wrap Up! . 📚 I only read three books this month with all the travel and excitement but they were all suitably solid, weird reads! I also completed my first buddy read of the year with the Roth novel. . 💗 Swipe to see some more moments and here’s how it all shook out: . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ IF YOURE SEEING THIS ITS MEANT FOR YOU THE HUMAN STAIN . 🌾 I read BEAUTY as a comp title and I’m not rating those, but I’ve already had some good convos about it and wish Jason Stone was coming to LA because I’d love to learn more about his writing process. . 🦋 What was your fave or least fave read from September? . . . . . . . . . . #ronareads #ronareader #september #bookrecs #bookrecommendations by @ronareads4u

✨☕️ NYC through books! . 📓 It’s been a minute since I’ve been back to my old stomping grounds and you know I had to get my book fix in. It’s hard to find books in New York City without also finding art so swipe through to see some of my highlights — including several new to me spots! . 🌊 Have you been to NYC? Is it on your bucket list? What’s your fave thing there? I love the local shopping on the LES and I haaaaaate that there’s no unlimited metro cards anymore I’m honestly shook. 🎨 Aeon Bookstore, a used art bookstore, is directly underneath Kopitiam, a Malaysian restaurant with insane small bites and unique drinks. Have lunch and then browse! ☕️🧊🌈 The iced coffee drink at Kopitiam. Their drinks come in these cutie Capri Sun-style pouches with a wrist strap for maximum portability! 🥒 A classic fave! ✨ Still love their display media! Would die for some of it in my own VHS collection tbqh… ✏️ A copy of The Tea Rose (the book I was reading when we got Fezziwig!) was sitting out and it had this sweet inscription inside. 🐱💗 Alison found this new used children’s book and gift shop named for its resident kitty. An incredible spot for gifts and unique finds! I would do so much birthday and holiday shopping here if I was back in the city. ✨💕 Pillowcat with her neon sign and display stacks 🙋‍♀️💅🏻 Alison making friends with the shop’s owner 🐑🩵 LAAMS is a vintage and custom clothing, music and media store in the LES with an awesome collection of international goodies and one-of-kind pieces. Come for the insane jackets and sweatshirts, stay for the vintage JET magazines. 💔 LAAMS just breaking my heart and giving Shoreditch vibez 📚 I’m embarrassed to admit this, but in the 9 years I lived in the city I never visited the main branch of the NYPL. So one afternoon I went over there and saw their collection and spent an hour or so reading in the Rose Main Reading Room. . 💔 Yes, I was dying that I’d never done it before and it’s such a great, quiet, gorgeous place to work and read. 🍂 The NYPL’s musuem collection was so stunning. There were documents from the Revolutionary War to mark the country’s anniversary, but also the Winnie the Pooh st by @ronareads4u

✨☕️ Sunday in an office you share with a writer musician. . 🎹 Idk what most of this stuff does, but it’s not my business! I actually don’t mind sharing a space but I’m not sure what he’d say! 🤣 . 💅🏻 A couple snapshots of the week. What are you reading? What are you up to? . . . . . . . . . . #RONAREADS #RONAREADer #office #music #bookrecs 💛⭐️ This bar bathroom is painted metallic gold and not only does it look cool but the lighting is never not ELITE! I’m not a big bathroom selfie girl in public but this bathroom lighting is only rivaled by the old Abercrombie and Fitch flagship dressing room in NYC that no longer exists. . Note to self if I’m ever a home owner: paint a bathroom gold! ✨ Do you have a comfort read? . ♥️ Idk how I got here with WOLF HALL as my comfy series but I’m here. Listening on audio book to an English actor who played Cromwell on stage narrate. Audiobooks still aren’t my preferred way of reading but for a reread I’m doing better! . 💅🏻 I’m taking Danica Nava’s sophomore novel LOVE IS A WAR SONG to NYC with me next week and I dove head first into Leigh Stein’s novel IF YOU’RE SEEING THIS… and it’s so good. I love books set in LA, which is funny considering I feel the exact opposite about novels set in NYC (both cities I’ve lived in as an adult). . 🗽 Speaking of which, that betch in the photo strip lands on the east coast this week with two pussies in her purse! People on the UES used to see Romona rolling around but now they’re going to wonder if there are twins (hint: there are). . 💕 What are you reading this week? I have like three books going… . . . . . . . . . #RONAREADS #RONAREADer #bookrecs #audiobook #losangeles This insane sammy we had at La Copine last week. ✨ what book would you recommend to your favorite villain? . 🩵 between the @oasis LIVE 27 tour dates, Fezziwig’s barf parade, and a yoga sesh I cancelled (jk I delayed it) I figured I might as well share what we’ve been cooking up over here at RONAREADS. . 🖤 bravo takes up about as much space in my brain as reading does and what better way to consider the enigma that is @charliezakkour than via books?? HE BETTER GET RIGHT WITH MY GIRL EMIRA OR WE RIDE AT DAWN! . 💌 Get more book recs like this, community for writers, and Fez content by subscribing to The RONAREADer on Substack at ronareads.substack.com or via link in bio! ☔️ What’s the weather like where you are? It’s been 90 degrees and so humid in LA, I think I’m about to lose it! . 📚 Feast your eyes and minds on this week’s book recs, cleverly themed WE’RE MELTING! because it is a transitional time in the year. No matter where you are on the planet, seasons are changing, schedules are changing, brain power is changing. . 💡 Why not read a book that reflects change? Or forced changed? Or coming back together? Or reflecting? The books on this week’s shelf have that to offer. 👀 Swipe for some stuff that’s been helping us navigate our own transition. . ➡️ Read the full issue free at ronareads.substack.com or via link in bio! . 💕 Have you read any of these or are they on your TBR? . . . . . . . . . . #RONAREADS #RONAREADer #bookrec #bookrecs #bookrecommendations by @ronareads4u

✨ August recap! . 🍰 Some solid books and bites from August! We’ve been busy doing adult stuff so I don’t have many exciting pictures to share. But the reads were good! . 📝 I’m not including my comp titles in my recap—NO HEAVEN was a comp read, but it was my fave and KB is a New School author so I wanted to toot its horn! 🎺 . Swipe for more and here’s how it all shook out: . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No Heaven for Good Boys . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chaos: Charles Manson, the CIA, and the Secret History of the Sixties The Pretender Thomas Cromwell . ⭐️⭐️ Caul Baby ✨📰🗞️ ☕️💕 💗 The 4th Annual READ-A-THON was in August!
