rice krispie treats but make them rice balls 🍙🖤

teamed up with @rootedfare to make these with their crunchy black sesame butter, and it’s the move 🤌 brown butter + black sesame + korean puffed rice = nutty, gooey, salty-sweet triangles you can‘t stop eating.

INGREDIENTS
🧈 1 stick butter
☁️ 6 cups mini marshmallows
🫙 3 tbsp @rooted.fare Crunchy Black Sesame Butter
🧂 pinch of sea salt
🥣 6 cups Rice Krispies
🍚2 cups Korean puffed rice
✨ flaky sea salt, to finish

HOW TO
1. Mix the Rice Krispies cereal + puffed rice in a big bowl.
2. Brown the butter over medium heat until nutty and fragrant.
3. Drop to low and melt in all the marshmallows.
4. Stir in the black sesame butter + sea salt.
5. Off the heat, fold in the cereal mix half at a time (MOVE FAST)
6. Spray rice mold and press gently into the molds, filling every corner, then slowly release.
7. Top with flaky salt and let set.

🥮💫Thank you for another year of mooncake workshops and donations to our elders, LA! And thanks Jen @bakers.bench for being our amazing teacher!

This year, we had 4 full classes and the MOST donated mooncakes ever for our Senior Fund! That’s 82 mooncakes made by our students and 18 made by us for a total of 100.

As per our tradition for the last 4 years, we teamed up with @paulettapierce, @gu_grocery, @bakers.bench , @comboaechopark to serve the seniors of Grand Plaza in Chinatown handmade mooncakes, other desserts, tea, and hot food.

Five AAPI makers are turning a coffee shop into an after-dark omakase. 🌙

On Saturday October 3rd @yihuicoffee opens their coffee shop for two intimate omakase seatings. In collaboration with @eat.salo @rooted.fare @blueynco_cafe @saltbuttercookie , they built a four-course food and beverage pairing - starting light and building in depth with every course. Link in bio.
