Hey there! My name is Megan, and this is my dog Chi. Together, we are Rootless Adventure Company.
Here’s our story:

After leaving my hometown in Missouri for the first time at age 18 for the first time, I rescued Chi and set off to figure out what I wanted out of life.

I tried out every different type of job, activity, and lifestyle under the sun in my early twenties.

I moved from the city to the mountains to the beach, backpacked around Europe a few times, and even moved into my Jeep Wrangler at one point to travel the US and Canada for a year.

Along the way I’ve been a travel blogger, content creator, product creator, website designer, retreat host, and even a bartender.

My mission at Rootless is to inspire you to dream big and not be afraid to live that life that makes you feel truly alive.

I share outdoorsy travel destinations, bucket list adventures, and my experiences traveling full time with my dog.

My little copilot 🫶🏼

Chi came into my life almost 10 years ago now, just a couple days before I moved out of my parents’ house and into the world of adulthood. I can’t imagine my twenties without her - I’m not sure I would’ve had the courage to travel and camp so many nights alone, be so independent, and get through the hard times if she hadn’t been there with me.

I hope we have many more miles to explore together. 💗

Thanks so much @savannahlaurenphotography for capturing these sweet memories of me and my best friend! I already know I will treasure them forever.

The best way to end a day outdoors in Colorado 🫶🏼

My favorite way to experience Colorado is a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. During a visit to Glenwood Springs, my friends and I spent the morning hiking Hanging Lake, and the afternoon soaking our tired muscles in all the different mineral pools and saunas at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs.

There’s truly no better way to spend a day in CO :)

Glenwood Springs Day Trip

Getting there: Glenwood Springs is right off I-70, about 1.5 hours from Breckenridge and 3 hours from Denver.

What To Do:
📍 Hanging Lake — Short and steep with a beautiful payoff. Reservations are required ($12/person), so make sure to plan ahead.

📍Downtown Glenwood Springs — Head into town afterward to walk around and grab lunch. There are tons of cute, quirky shops and restaurants.

♨️ Iron Mountain Hot Springs — The absolute best way to recover after a morning hike! Mix of hot and cold pools.

Glenwood Springs is one of my favorite easy mountain getaways. Save this itinerary for later.

Chi & I had the absolute best stay at The Treehouses in Whiskey Woods on my most recent road trip through Missouri. We spent a couple days paddleboarding on the lake, relaxing around a campfire, and simply enjoying some peace and quiet.

I always forget how beautiful my home state can be :) Highly recommend adding a little Lake of the Ozarks escape to your bucket list!

You don't need the whole plan.

Megan didn't have her life mapped out when she left Missouri at 18. She simply kept listening to herself, taking the next step, and figuring it out along the way.

You're allowed to outgrow your life.

A career. A city. A relationship. A dream. Even an old version of yourself.

Something that once felt right doesn't have to fit forever.

Changing your mind isn't failure. It's growth.

There is no expiration date on reinvention.

Ask yourself:
If no one else were watching, what kind of life would I create?

You don't have to live by someone else's definition of success.

You get to decide what a beautiful life looks like for you.

had the absolute BEST morning with @rootlessadventureco going on a lil adventure & getting to document the love between her and her soul dog Chi who turns 10 this month!! It was truly so special witnessing their special bond & capturing photos + super 8 video of the love they share in one of their favorite places!! (I was teary the entireeee time behind the camera)
