What does storytelling mean to you? Did you know that strategic dialogue and narrative building can be used to promote dialogue and shared understanding?

We have been on a journey, collecting stories and listening to communities. From here in Nairobi with the LIVErary to Trans Nzoia County with the Wiyeta Football Club and Kakamega with Ana antami, the journey has been immense and fulfilling. One insight is that we have solutions being implemented by the people and ideas fronted by the youth. The question remains how do we stocktake these efforts and how do they get to the main grid. Climate action is not one sided but requires an integrated approach.

Walk with us as we take you on a journey of listening and co-creating solutions with the community. We are the catalysts for locally-led climate action. by @roots.people

Political actors, companies, lobbies, and platforms are increasingly using disinformation to install stories, mobilize emotions, and deepen divisions in our communities.

Rosario Coll (@rocoll) of Roots was at Argentina’s National Congress earlier this month speaking about the impact of disinformation, and why public institutions must hold those who produce and amplify it accountable. by @roots.people

Roots’ Rosario Coll was at Argentina’s National Congress last week speaking about climate disinformation and the role public institutions must play in addressing it >> 🎥

We joined La Multisectorial del Golfo San Matías, Abogades Ambientalistas, and Red Ecosocialista to present the findings of a community investigation into disinformation narratives promoting offshore oil and gas exploration in Argentina’s San Matías Gulf. The research was led by Fabricio of @defendamosnuestrogolfo as part of the Roots’ Fellowship for Countering Disinformation.

A just transition should include everyone. In conflict zones, using less oil is the transition.

Three years since October 7th. In Gaza, over 90% of the population is displaced, most living in tent camps among rubble. The land itself is a casualty of war.

But Palestinians are still counting their children every night, still rebuilding what they can, still refusing to leave. That refusal, not a wind turbine or solar panel, is the foundation everything else is built on.

We repaired a central generator that now powers 11 wells across three areas:

Siam Square: Al-Madhoun, Siam, and Aman wells
Al-Shantaf Square: Al-Shantaf, Banat, and Al-Majdalawi wells
Shuhada Al-Radwan Square: Al-Radwan, Qaffa, Al-Jisr, and Mahdi wells

Each well runs on a 3-horsepower pump. Together, they deliver water to families who have no other source. The generator still uses oil—but far less than before. In a place where infrastructure is a target, that is not a compromise. That is the achievement.

A just transition should include everyone. In conflict zones, using less oil is the transition.

لكنه حقيقي. by @roots.people
