The result of last week's Weaving Loop workshop at @babyface.studio led by @sacha_beeley

Animated in pencil on 12 sheets of paper. Coloured digitally and all sounds made with my mouth noises into my laptop internal mic

So fun getting back to paper and hanging out with cool people. Be sure to check out any future workshops x by @rory_wt

Super Short Winner: i have a
The winning film starts out amusingly enough - pulling off the impressive trick of making you underestimate its intentions. Soon it turns into an impressively efficient story of an entire life, what we can keep, and what we can’t. All with a very catchy song as unrelenting as the march of time. The winner is i have a by writer/ director Rory Waudby-Tolley by @rory_wt

Some snaps of Mama snake sock puppet coming to life in the Basement.

‘I Have A’ by @rory_wt has been storming through festivals, and that makes us so happy! It will next be showing at @daydream.nation.glasgow on 16 August.

A self-funded comedy musical exploring arrested development under late-stage capitalism, consumerism, and death. The film is primarily 2D digital animation, but also incorporates a sock puppet, stock footage, and a closing sequence animated straight ahead on paper with charcoal pencil before being digitally inverted. taken in Clapham Road Studios by @rory_wt

Hello! Introducing the artists whose films we will present you on the 16th of August 🥳
Here’s Rory Waudby-Tolley whose work you can check at @rory_wt 💜
We’re gonna show his film “I have a” which is currently storming various festivals all over the world and we cannot wait to show it in Glasgow 😁 (tw: smurph paraphernalia)
You cannot miss it !

Here’s info from Rory:
I am a filmmaker, animator, educator and screenwriter from and based in London. My work is primarily character-led comedy, though I love animation for its inherently multidisciplinary nature and its capacity for play across design, performance, sound and music.

I HAVE A is a self-funded comedy musical film exploring arrested development under late-stage capitalism, consumerism and death. Running 4 minutes 43 seconds, it was completed in late 2025 after several years of stop-and-start production. The film is primarily 2D digital animation created in Adobe Animate, but also incorporates a sock puppet, stock footage, and a closing section animated straight ahead on paper in charcoal pencil before being inverted digitally. I made all the music before designing the film with the vocals is provided by Nabhaan Rizwan (BBC’s Juice, Netflix’s Kaos, 1917).

Join us for our birthday 🎂 16th of August, doors open 3pm. You can bring cake 😁
