22 years ago today, my life radically changed…

I made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as my Savior and my Lord.

I have learned so much over the last 22 years.

I have been very intentional about surrounding myself with incredible communities of Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs. Grateful for all of them pictured in this post, and so many more not pictured!

I have walked through so many “seasons” during this time, and I still feel like I have so much to learn.

I just wrapped up an unbelievable 5+ mile hike out here in Portland, Oregon, with a new community of remarkable Kingdom-minded entrepreneurs who truly believe we can make an eternal impact for the Kingdom and in our Omaha community.

I will share more about what we did and what we are building in future posts, but today is all about the amazing people God has allowed me to run with over the past few years.

Today is such a special day for me, and I just want to slow down for a moment for anyone reading this to remind you that Jesus is the answer.

We all have a God-sized hole in our hearts, and when I filled that with Jesus 22 years ago, everything changed for me.

I invite you to seek Him. Ask the hard questions in life to people you trust…

Why are we here?
What is my purpose?
Why does God allow hard things to happen to people I love?

As you wrestle with these questions, please know I am here for you. I would love a DM, a text, a call, or to grab a meal together.

Figured it was probably time for a proper reintroduction. 😂

It has been a wild past few years, so for those who are new here…

Hi, I’m Rory. 👋

I’m a Christ follower, single dad of four, entrepreneur, community builder, new runner, marketing junkie and apparently a professional yapper now too. 😂

But more than any title, I’m just trying to become a better dad, leader, friend and follower of Jesus while building things that actually matter.

Around here you’ll find faith, fatherhood, fitness, business, marketing, community, fun and plenty of lessons I’m learning along the way.

I definitely don’t have it all figured out.

Maybe that’s the point.

These four smiles are my WHY. ❤️ (plus some bonus ones at the end 😉)

They’re why I run, take care of my health, keep building and try to go the extra mile.

God has blessed me with these kiddos, and I want them to see what it looks like to work hard, give generously and use our gifts to serve others.

I’m far from perfect. I make mistakes daily. But I’ll keep doing my best to be an example they can look up to.

Not chasing money, fame or recognition. Building relationships, loving people and making a Kingdom impact in our community.

Parents, I know you get it. Those smiles make it all worth it. ❤️

Whatever you’re building, don’t lose sight of who you’re building it for.

As we left Washington, DC, we got to witness this special welcome for our Vietnam veterans. I couldn’t help but think about my incredible dad, who served in Vietnam, and how special this moment was.

What an honor to cheer for these men. I love our country, and I’m grateful for those who have served it.

God bless America. 🇺🇸

Day TWO running through Washington, D.C.! 🏃‍♂️🇺🇸

Some people take a tour bus. Apparently we brought running shoes. 😂

Even better than the incredible landmarks? Sharing the miles with two great Christian business friends and community leaders while learning how to make a greater Kingdom impact back home in Omaha.

Good conversations. A little sweat. And memories we’ll be talking about long after this trip.

Take the trip. Bring your people. Create the memories. And slow down enough to appreciate the history and incredible places in this great country we call home.

Apparently that whole ordering online thing caught on. 😂📦

When I started my first online business 22 years ago, people around me laughed at the idea of ordering something and having it shipped right to your front door.

The other morning? THREE delivery trucks behind me while I’m filming. 😂

Pretty funny how something people questioned became just another morning in the driveway.

Not everyone is going to see what you see.

Listen to good advice, but don’t let someone else’s doubt put an end to your dream.

Dream big. Think differently. Test that idea. You don’t need the whole crowd cheering before you get started.

Six months ago, I went to Portland. I had no idea what that trip was about to start. ❤️🏃‍♂️

I walked close to 10 miles around Nike headquarters, did an almost five-mile climb up the falls, and went for my first run on a Portland nature trail… where I got lost with two guys who are now some of my closest running friends.

That’s a story for another day. 😂

Watching my amazing daughter Genevieve “GG” and her success in track and field had already inspired me. That Portland trip gave me the extra push to get moving again and get healthier.

Who knew I’d come home so motivated to pull out my old white Nikes and give this running thing a shot?

I headed out for a one-mile “run” around the neighborhood. Those white Nikes eventually blew out, so I switched to my equally worn-out black Nikes before finally deciding it was time to upgrade. 😂

Six months later, I’m grateful for every mile, every lesson and every person who’s become part of this journey.

And I’m excited to see what the next six months bring.

Just a gentle reminder: you don’t need to have it all figured out before you begin.

Every new journey starts with that first step. Take yours.

Today’s run didn’t go quite as planned. 😂🏃‍♂️❤️

I planned to run solo, but the kiddos wanted to join me for a little 4+ mile adventure.

And you know what? I’m learning to say YES to more of these moments.

The Bible reminds us that life is just a vapor. Here today and gone tomorrow. (James 4:14)

We spend so much time building businesses, chasing goals and working toward the next big thing.

But sometimes we need to slow down and remember what matters most.

The people. The relationships. The little moments we can never get back.

Keep building great things, but don’t get so busy building a life that you forget to enjoy the one God has given you.

Cherish the moments. Love your people. Be present. ❤️
