Brunch goals achieved at Caffe Gelato on Main Street, Newark, DE 🍽️✨

Across from UD, we indulged in Crepes a la Bacio, the best crème brûlée French Toast, and even standout scrambled eggs!

Cocktails, cappuccinos, and Shrimp & Crab lemon ricotta crepes made it unforgettable.

While there are other dessert options, we couldn’t leave without experiencing the delectable gelato!

Volare Italian Restaurant on Frankfort Ave is outstanding! We started our special date night with the
Gatsby and house Aperol Spritz.
My favorite part was the Rotollini de Melanzane - eggplant rolled risotto and marinara - I would go back for that alone! 😘
Risotto di Maiale &
Chicken Pasta Special were our entrees - we definitely needed to go boxes because those meals were heavy but utterly delicious.
Since it was our first time our server brought us a slice of Heath Cheesecake. I especially loved the hearts they drew on our dessert plate.❤️ we will definitely be back for special occasions!

Just across the bridge in New Albany, something good is growing. 🌱

Let Us Learn Inc. teamed up with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield to expand their Pay-As-You-Can Farmstand, a farmer’s market where every item has a suggested price, but you pay what you can. Tight month? Pay less. Good month? Pay a little extra and help feed another family.

As a nurse, I can tell you this matters more than people realize. I’ve sat with so many patients and families who knew exactly what they “should” be eating, but fresh food just wasn’t in the budget. Founder Gina Brown said it perfectly: being on a lower income “doesn’t mean that you don’t want that.” Wanting to take care of yourself was never the problem. Access is.

This is what prevention actually looks like. Not a lecture, not a pamphlet. A table full of fresh produce and a community that shows up for each other.

Our family had one of the best Sunday afternoons we can imagine at Red Mile Racing in Lexington, KY!
Not only did we get to have a buffet dinner in the clubhouse and eat near the track where you could hear the sound of the horses… but we got a special treat when my son and I got to ride in the starter car and get up close DURING the race! The tasting gala for the Kentuckiana Stroke Association was an incredible outpouring of love from the community for Stroke Survivors! 🧠❤️‍🩹

Each different hospital and rehabilitation center brought forward a Stroke Survivor who shared their story of resilience and hope and recovery. ☀️

Local restaurants and chefs rolled out some of the most delicious bites I’ve had any tasting event. 🧑‍🍳😘

Thank you to the Kentuckiana Stroke Association for raising awareness around the signs of Stroke and when to call 911, but also that there is hope for rebuilding after Stroke!
