INSTALLATION WEEK — WHAT A BEAUTY!
What a week it’s been at Rosby!

A huge effort from our wonderful team of volunteers, artists and everyone who has helped bring SIG 2026 to life.

We’ve loved catching up with familiar faces, welcoming new artists and watching the incredible works arrive and the exhibition come together, one sculpture at a time.

It’s been a massive week, and we couldn’t have done it without our amazing crew. Thank you!

NOW WE’RE READY TO WELCOME YOU!

Sculptures in the Garden opens this Saturday 10 October at 10am, and every day from 10am–4pm until Sunday 25 October.

We’d love to see you here!

INSTALL DAYS 2 + 3
Another couple of huge days at Rosby — and SIG 2026 is really starting to take shape.

The big works are being lifted into place, we’ve had our first water installation, and Bert has arrived ready for My Kingdom for a Horse.

The tools haven’t stopped, the sculptures keep arriving and somehow… we still have another 130 to install!

A huge few days from our artists, volunteers and team.

And we open THIS WEEKEND!

DAY ONE. DONE.
Installation week is officially underway at Sculptures in the Garden.

We loved seeing some familiar faces back at Rosby today and meeting new artists as everyone got busy on the tools and started transforming the grounds.

38 sculptures installed — and still more than 240 to come

A great start to what is going to be a very big week.
SIG 2026 opens this weekend. We can’t wait to show you what’s coming together.

SCULPTURE MEETS PAINTING
Timber and texture. Colour and light.

The sculptural works of Nigel White will provide a beautiful counterpoint to Anne Flynn’s paintings in our next exhibition at Rosby Gallery.

Nigel’s sculptures celebrate freedom of expression through material and form, while Anne’s works explore landscape, still life and the natural world through layers of colour and mixed media.

Two very different practices, brought together by a shared appreciation for material, observation and the world around them.

Exhibition 5–28 September 2026
Thursday–Monday | 10am–4pm

Not long now until the gallery walls are filled with the beautiful landscapes of Anne Flynn.

Inspired by rural and coastal New South Wales, Anne’s mixed-media works celebrate the contrasts found in the Australian landscape — movement and stillness, bold colour and soft light, rugged formations and tranquil waters.

Paired with the distinctive timber sculptures of Mudgee artist Nigel White, this will be a beautiful exhibition to welcome spring at Rosby.

SOLAR ETCHINGS | Anne Flynn
Another dimension to Anne Flynn’s upcoming exhibition at Rosby Gallery — a beautiful series of solar etchings inspired by figure studies and everyday interior scenes.

The solar etching process allows Anne to capture loose, gestural lines within each print, while subtle touches of colour reference the old-fashioned technique of hand-colouring sepia photographs.

Intimate and expressive, these smaller works offer a lovely contrast to Anne’s vibrant mixed-media landscapes and still lifes — and another glimpse into the breadth of her practice.

While Anne Flynn is known for her evocative landscapes, her upcoming exhibition also turns our attention to the beauty found much closer to home.

In Garden Harvest, Ruby Red and Russet Hues, Anne celebrates the colours, shapes and patterns of everyday life — from rich red pomegranates to persimmons harvested from a friend’s garden. Light, colour and sculptural form transform these familiar subjects into vibrant mixed-media works.

These still lifes offer just a small taste of Anne’s collection, which will sit alongside the distinctive timber sculptures of Mudgee artist Nigel White.

MATERIAL. FORM. FEELING.
Nigel White may only have a handful of sculptures in our upcoming exhibition, but each brings its own wonderful presence to the gallery.

Nigel’s practice is driven by freedom — the freedom to explore different materials, respond intuitively to their natural qualities and use sculpture to express different feelings and ideas.

Working from his studio in Mudgee, Nigel has been a long-time exhibitor at Rosby Gallery and Sculptures in the Garden, and it’s always a pleasure to welcome his work back.

See Nigel’s latest sculptures alongside the mixed-media works of Anne Flynn from 5 September.

NIGEL WHITE | RECENT WORKS
A small collection, but some very special pieces.

Mudgee sculptor Nigel White will present a selection of new sculptures alongside Anne Flynn’s paintings in our next Rosby Gallery exhibition.

For Nigel, sculpture is about the freedom to express different feelings through different materials. Working intuitively with timber and other materials, he allows texture, form and the individual character of each element to become part of the story.

We’re looking forward to seeing these beautiful sculptural forms sitting alongside Anne’s colourful works.
