Some cryptogams of hayastan. All of my photos came out bad this day, I couldnt quite get anything into focus so I’m posting here instead of my finsta. I have been asking around about a microscope. I’m a bit closer to getting one I think. by @rose.etti

My last few weeks on Guam I got the chance to see so many of my bucket list items 🥹🥲

I’ve been trying to see Korthalsella, the native mistletoe, for years! And the same day I saw another parasitic plant I never even heard of called Sciaphila (sp.) which I believe is native. It’s the super cool purple one slides 7&8. I finally saw xylosma as well this day (3)!

I also saw the endemic floating fern Ceratopteris guadichaudii (9 & 10), the native tree fern Cyathea lualata (14 & 15) (there was a name change but I can’t be bothered to look it up). The same day I finally saw histeropsis on Guam (not pictured-I have seen it on rota before that) and I finally saw Pteris quadriaurita and Cheilanthes tenuifolia (19 & 20-Not rare but I just haven’t seen them).

I also saw some weird microsorum punctatum (18) and a new flower murdannia nudiflora (12).

Slides 17 & 16 are the iconic native rhaphidophora

And lastly, I saw a nudibranch I’ve always wanted to see in agat! There is still so much I still haven’t seen but I felt so blessed to have such beautiful last days on Guam 💞 by @rose.etti
