Just getting around to taking pictures of things I’ve been working on. I tried to take pictures of this yarn in different places and it liked the giant rhubarb leaf best. Dead grass just doesn’t flatter anything. August is kind of dehydrated here. 🌾😂

I shared this previously in my stories before it got a bath. It’s 2 sets (8oz) of stickle batts from @inglenookfibers in the colorway Carol of the Birds. 1,464 yds 2 ply, my classic megaskein. 🥳🧶🐑

Here is my finished @helloyarn official TDF colorway Meadow (in the rhubarb) on Corriedale spun fractal-ish into a 3 ply, 476 yds.

Be sure to go look at @dyerspun page, she spun this up too and her spinning is superb. 💕🫶

My “Merpeople” skeins from the previous post have become a Nordic Wind Shawl. The copper sparkles don’t really show up in the photo, but it shimmers in the light. ✨💕

Pattern: Nordic Wind by cabinfour on Ravelry.

Project stop spinning laceweight was a success. I’ve got nearly 700 luscious yards of “Merpeople” on yak/merino/silk/gold stellina. Total weight is 11.4 oz. I’m not gonna do any more math about it. This is pure vibes. 🧜🏻‍♂️

This drop dead gorgeous colorway is from @inglenookfibers of course. 🩵💚🩵

It’s Spindle Bingo time! This is my intention post: I plan to cheer everyone on and see the awesome skills of my friends while quietly spinning in the background and if my creative energies can be harnessed I hope to have some finished spindle spun yarn! 🧶🐑

Tuscany in Bloom on Polwarth Silk, dyed by @inglenookfibers 🌈 2 ply mini skeins each averaging 250 yds, altogether weighing around 12 oz of heavy lace weight yarn. I didn’t use a filter on these pictures. The shocking brightness is really how they look.☺️

This was a potato chip spin for me. The fiber drafted so well I went into a flow state each time I touched it; time and place disappeared and I just love that.

Happy late August and new moon.

Hi, I made some more yarn.

This @helloyarn “Making S’mores” colorway really hit the spot for an August spin. I always grab Corriedale when I want to spin, but don’t want to pay that much attention to my spinning.

This guy was spun into a 3 ply.
Fiber was divided 3 equal pieces (picture a snake chopped into 3 segments) and then I stripped each one down as follows: bobbin 1: stripped in half down the length, bobbin 2: stripped into 4 lengths, bobbin 3: stripped into 8 lengths.

541 yds prewash, 3 ply, heavy fingering weight. 🧡💛🤎 by @rose_moon_rising

TDF 2025 wrap up…

I’m still spinning 🤓, but I figured I’d capture what’s done while there’s still some nice light. ✨

Deets and stats:

Top: @inglenookfibers Jupiter Stickle Batts, 2 sets totaling 8 ounces of fiber. Spun into a two ply heavy laceweight graident, 1,434 yds.

From left to right:
@helloyarn I Had to Domesticate the Wild Beast 4 ounces on Corriedale, split 4 times down the length and spun ultra fine and then chain plied, heavy laceweight 636 yds.

@inglenookfibers Soir à Carcassonne On Batt in a Braid #7, 5.5 ounces spun into a sport/dk two ply gradient 442 yds.

@inglenookfibers Matin à Carcassonne on Pearl Hanui/Silk, spun into a laceweight two ply gradient, 5.5 ounces, 1200 silky yards. 💘

@helloyarn Like Sleep Withour Dreams on Fakland, 4 ounces spun end to end into a laceweight single ply skein, 1,118 yds.

Wheels used this year: Majacraft Rose, Schacht Matchless, Schacht Sidekick, and Hansen MiniSpinner Pro.

Finished weight: 1lb 11.2oz, 4,830 yards. 🥳

Not my most prolific year, but I think I made nicer yarn overall, so I’ll take that as a personal win. 🐑💘 by @rose_moon_rising
