Kent Cup Champions. 🏆 A totally deserved accolade for a brilliant group of lads, Saturday was a special day. We went into this game feeling confident, but naturally nerves and excitement met us on the day. There was a great buzz amongst the lads, supported so generously by those not in the squad but who wanted to offer their words of encouragement and help. The game started with Sharsted on top, hitting the near post direct from a corner. Our defensive structure and performance was strong though, something that would continue throughout the game, with Charman & Andrews keeping the number 9 quiet, and Ashmore and Young going toe to toe with their quality wide players. A few chances began to come our way, with a few strikes by Pile and Colbran missing the target. We went close after strong work by Mayhew saw the ball fall to Pile, his shot flashing across the face of the goal. Our goal came on 40 minutes, with a one two between Pile and Mayhew going loose, Mayhew’s block on the clearance fell to Chiarletti, whose good control left a chance to strike low into the corner from 25 yards. In the 2nd half, Sharsted came straight out looking to score, but Mawson cleared his lines well. The introduction of Ray saw opportunities down the left, with Ray feeling he should have had a penalty after a late trip, but nothing was given. Further half chances came our way from dangerous crosses and corners, but the Sharsted keeper did well claiming them. Sharsted had their own penalty shout very late on in injury time, which was followed by a few heavy challenges afterwards in frustration. However the lads kept their heads and composure, seeing the game out well. To a man in 16, a fantastic group performance resulting in further scenes on Saturday evening 🤪 A huge thanks to all who supported on Saturday making it a special occasion. We so appreciate you all. ❤️ Finally, our thanks to @kent.fa and @bearsted_fc for the smooth running of the final and great organisation. COME ON 🌹

🌹 RESSIES WITH A 4-3 WIN ON PENS 🌹

The Roselands once more feel no pressure when it comes to penalties. Through to the next round of the cup after defeating Bromley Green as Tom comes out with twi big saves in the 90 minutes and on the penalty shootout too. Ressies now running on back to back wins.

A disappointing 3-0 loss for the firsts this week.

The Ressies with an 8-2 WIN over Paddock Wood!!!

GOALS FROM:
Jay 2x
Dan 2x
Alfie 1x
And the man on absolute fire…🔥 Sam 3x 🔥

No more match report as my thumbs now hurt from typing all those names, numbers, x’s and of course the heat coming off Sam’s hat trick alone…YOWCH!

Unbelievable stuff from the boys!

🌹 ROSELANDS FIRSTS 🌹

The Firsts take on St Lawrence in the league. It has been pinned by many as THE fixture of the weekend. One veteran player has been quoted as stating it will be a ‘proper belter of a game.’

We couldn’t agree more…You DO NOT want to miss this one.

(It is also Simmo’s testimonial, so feel free to show face for that alone — even if there aren’t goals, there will certainly be tears regardless.)

🌹 ROSELANDS RESERVES 🌹

The RESERVES are looking to bounce back after their defeat last week. They face a decent Paddock Wood side and will be looking to secure a statement victory.

🌹 Roselands Firsts move through into the next round of the Smiths Cup after winning 4–2 on penalties! 🌹

A cagey game, to say the least, with their keeper making a few big saves. The penalty shootout saw the team remain composed, not missing a single penalty, but more importantly, David made two huge saves. Far from our best performance; however, another clean sheet and a lot to take on board as we move into a big fixture upcoming on Saturday.

An unfortunate 4–1 loss for Roselands Reserves against a good and well-organised Ide Hill side. Nevertheless, another week in the bank, getting used to playing with each other.

🌹 Time to regroup and go again next week! 🌹 by @roselandsfc
