🟡 MATCH REPORT | HAWKENBURY FC 1–1 ROSELANDS FC 🔴

A closely contested afternoon between last season’s Kent Junior Cup winners, @roselandsfc and the previous back-to-back league champions, Hawkenbury FC, ended all square at Bayham Rec.

The first half was a cagey affair, with the Hawks enjoying the better of the play for large periods but unable to find a breakthrough. The sides went into the interval level at 0–0.

Roselands took the lead shortly after the restart following a defensive mix-up, but the Hawks responded in style. M. Simcox produced an inch-perfect free-kick to bring Hawkenbury level and restore parity.

Roselands were then reduced to 10 men after one of their players received a sin-bin. Despite having the numerical advantage, the Hawks couldn’t find a winner, with Roselands defending resolutely to hold on for a point.

A hard-fought and entertaining game of football, with both sides showing why they are among the division’s strongest teams.

We’ll look forward to the reverse fixture later in the season. 🦅🟡

Revo’s annual tournament was back today like it had never been away!!

Great to have just shy of 100 players with us for this year’s round robin tournament.

Just three points separated the top three after 9 rounds of fixtures with @pemburyfc seeing off Tonbridge Lions and Chipstead.

Thanks to our three Match Officials and everyone who took part for making it another successful event!
