I picked up this book at a thrift shop because I simply can’t stop myself from buying any book that feels even remotely spooky.

It’s a little vintage book from the 1970s, a neat example of literature for children (yes, I know, I’m reading a children’s book) who are dipping their toes into the supernatural genre.

The stories aren’t exceptionally scary, and the prose isn’t particularly eerie. But it’s an interesting compendium of stories, and the illustrations are so lovely.

The cover is a showstopper, as far as I’m concerned, and I love the transparencies.

What better way to start the spooky season?

I like to think this is a companion piece to my strawberry lady. AND the official end of my summer posts....

They get together and gossip while having their tea in the garden, you know?

If you have missed my latest reel and don't know what this is, go watch it to hear me dish out a bit of history!

This is probably my favourite photo from my visit at the Pet Cemetery. Nestled in the corner of Hyde Park, it's such a unique time capsule of how humans have always loved and cherished their pets.

If you ever go, try to spot a few cats and birds among the dogs, and come back to share you favourite pet name. I do have a soft spot for Curly 🖤

Today, the Pet Cemetery is looked after by The Royal Parks.

It can be visited as part of one of their guided tours of Hyde Park and I'd highly recommend it!

Listen, I know not everyone has a local park anywhere close to them, but if you do, go and enjoy it!

Just clean after yourself, don't feed the ducks your leftover fries and use bio-friendly soap bubbles 🫧
