Bat Lady 🦇

This is honestly a good last second costume, just dress in black and stick paper bats on yourself, done!

She is dreaming of cinnamon sweets, cold breezes and a touch of mistery in the air 🍂

I think I've used every single orange art supply I own while making this, but I love how serene she looks in the gentle autumn light.

I picked up this book at a thrift shop because I simply can’t stop myself from buying any book that feels even remotely spooky.

It’s a little vintage book from the 1970s, a neat example of literature for children (yes, I know, I’m reading a children’s book) who are dipping their toes into the supernatural genre.

The stories aren’t exceptionally scary, and the prose isn’t particularly eerie. But it’s an interesting compendium of stories, and the illustrations are so lovely.

The cover is a showstopper, as far as I’m concerned, and I love the transparencies.

What better way to start the spooky season?

I like to think this is a companion piece to my strawberry lady. AND the official end of my summer posts....

They get together and gossip while having their tea in the garden, you know?

I know people have strong feelings about baby's breath flowers, I personally love it 🤍 Are you pro Gypsophila or anti? Illustration of a lady with curly brown hair, dressed in blue. Behind her a pretty bluish purple wallpaper with tiny pink roses. The drawing is laid flat, surrounded by flowers and art supplies.

I feel so ashamed posting summer-adjacent art on the 1st of September ahahahah

Bear with me a tiny bit longer and we will go into full -ber month mood!

In the meantime, let me share this photo I took of my art at Chiswick House & Gardens. The flowers behind my flower are so lovely, such a magical pop of colour 🌸

While we wait for autumn to kick in properly, I thought we could have a few more light and airy posts.

I clearly had a strawberry phase while making this, hope you like it 🍓

Does putting the easel lying down look silly or aesthetic?

If you have missed my latest reel and don't know what this is, go watch it to hear me dish out a bit of history!

This is probably my favourite photo from my visit at the Pet Cemetery. Nestled in the corner of Hyde Park, it's such a unique time capsule of how humans have always loved and cherished their pets.

If you ever go, try to spot a few cats and birds among the dogs, and come back to share you favourite pet name. I do have a soft spot for Curly 🖤

This is 'Metamorphosis' and it was created to be my entry to 2026 Copic Awards.

Copics are one of the first art supplies I fell in love with. It was what my favourite mangakas were using for the covers I was entraced by. It was this special medium that felt magical, but also modern and professional to me.

Basically all the art supplies used here, apart from the paper, are from Copic. Rather than being a challenge, it was the easiest thing in the world to work with them. It brought me back to buying my first copic (I want to say it was a C2!) and the thrill of using it.

Go check it out (maybe leave a vote) on the official Copic Awards website, link in bio.
