My new website is live! Here are some video tours and screenshots.

This has taken a while—I redesigned and rebuilt the whole site and added a bunch of projects (with more to come). I wanted to make it all easier to navigate while keeping some of the details and surprises I liked about my previous site.

The Desktop version has more of everything than the mobile version—more portfolios, more details, better (more?) design and layout, more information, etc etc. Both work though.

This has been built on @cargoworld—with some help from whoever is on the other side of their messaging window.

The last video is an outtake (and recently rediscovered) that feels like an accurate summary of this process (sound helps) taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by @ross_man_tle

The @nytimes let me travel to Pennsylvania for my dream story: Earlier this year, thousands of zombie fans flocked to the Monroeville Mall—the building where George A. Romero filmed “Dawn of the Dead” in the late 1970s. With the mall scheduled to close, the event was a chance to celebrate their beloved gathering place—as well as an opportunity to say goodbye to one of the oldest still-standing movie sets in the country.

I had a blast reporting and writing this piece, which brought me back to my beloved Pittsburgh, where I lived in mid-1990s. Story link in bio. And check out the great photos by @ross_man_tle!

I've been sending eMailers out more consistently in recent months (after a few years of not doing this at all and a career of doing it inconsistently). Promotion has always been the most difficult part of the work for me. For these though I've been trying to put together quick thoughts about process and approach and make a mini folio that responds to those ideas. The process has been enjoyable and personally informative.

Then, after it's all together, a lot of people I'll never meet get spammed with an email alluding to whatever is on my mind that week. So it goes, trying to make this all work in a strange world.
