The @nytimes let me travel to Pennsylvania for my dream story: Earlier this year, thousands of zombie fans flocked to the Monroeville Mall—the building where George A. Romero filmed “Dawn of the Dead” in the late 1970s. With the mall scheduled to close, the event was a chance to celebrate their beloved gathering place—as well as an opportunity to say goodbye to one of the oldest still-standing movie sets in the country.

I had a blast reporting and writing this piece, which brought me back to my beloved Pittsburgh, where I lived in mid-1990s. Story link in bio. And check out the great photos by @ross_man_tle!

Take a closer look 👀 at Solutions Hub, a dynamic exhibit from LinkedIn’s London Experience Center…

This sleek, curved display offers information at a glance and invites deeper dives into customer success stories. In its ambient state, the screens cycle through a variety of content, but as guests approach, they can simply “tap to learn more” about LinkedIn Learning Hub, upskilling with AI, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and more. Guests can then personalize their experience, choosing topics in whichever order, and lingering for as long or as little as they like. 🔎

Made from welded aluminum and wood, and housing four touchscreens, Solutions Hub required work from our design, creative tech, fabrication, and engineering teams to bring it all together. 👷

@ChristopherFeran is a coffee consultant and writer as well as the founder of @aviary.coffee, a roastery based in Cleveland, Ohio.

We at @standartmag know him as someone who is urging meaningful and not-always-comfortable conversations on problems facing the industry, while maintaining an eye towards creative—and workable— solutions to them. For our latest issue, we caught up with him to talk about his motivation to work so broadly across the industry, how he got to where he is today, and what the future holds.
