Two trees, one soul. 🌳❤️

The incredible fused Athmavu tree in Erumeli.

Spotted this natural wonder on the way through Erumeli, Kerala. Known locally as the Athmavu tree, it is a rare phenomenon where a massive Banyan tree and a Mango tree grow completely merged together as one unit. taken in Erumeli, Kerala by @rossintothewilds

I went for my morning nature walk to the Arattukadavu paddy fields, not really expecting anything special. But the fields had a little surprise waiting for me.

Among the weeds and the paddy crops that had grown back in the fields, I spotted a small group of Tricoloured Munias (Lonchura malacca), busily feeding. Watching these tiny birds moving through the vegetation and picking at the seeds was such a beautiful sight.

I stood there for a while, simply watching them. Later I clicked some pictures too.

Some encounters during a nature walk stay with you long after you leave. This was one of them. And when I got home, I felt the urge to put that little scene down on paper.

So, this quick sketch is my way of holding on to a beautiful morning at Arattukadavu paddyfields 😊
