Some places ask you to speed up.
The Snake River quietly reminds you to slow down.

For a couple of hours, there was nowhere to be. No agenda to keep. Just the sound of the current, the Tetons standing watch in the distance, bald eagles overhead, and the kind of conversations that somehow only happen when you're not distracted.

It's amazing to think this river begins high in Yellowstone National Park and winds more than 1,000 miles before eventually joining the Columbia River. Yet here, through the heart of Jackson Hole, it feels wonderfully peaceful.

This river is remarkable!
It flows south out of Yellowstone into Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole. It then turns west to slice all the way across southern Idaho via the Snake River Plain. Next, it arcs north, carving out Hells Canyon - the deepest river gorge in North America - where it acts as the natural border between Idaho and Oregon, as well as part of the border between Idaho and Washington. And finally, it turns west into eastern Washington, where it flows through the Palouse Hills and meets the Columbia River as its largest tributary.

We floated with Snake River Ranch, a family-owned ranch that's been part of this valley's story for generations. Their guides know every bend, every eagle's nest, and every story tucked into this remarkable landscape.

It didn't feel like a tour. It felt like being welcomed into a place they genuinely love.

Sometimes the best memories aren't made by doing more.
They're made by simply drifting... together.
