11 months after my first Ironman 70.3 race I competed in the @ironmantri 70.3 World Champs in Nice France. What an amazing experience made even better as I got to race with my 2 great mates that have been with me through the whole journey @bswelty @markmlitton The swim in the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea, a brutal, but also epic 4100 feet climb up the Maritime Alps, then the twisting and turning downhill back to run along the Promenade des Anglais in front of a great crowd. 56th out of 359 in my age group and 1036th out of 3147 overall. There were some amazing athletes competing & I definitely left it all out there. The standard in Europe is very high. I will be looking to qualify for next year & do better! Big thanks to @jasonkiwitx @endur3bikes for an amazing bike setup & @daniel.puig.00 for the body work to keep me racing @cervelo @fasttt.bike @saucony @hedwheels @garmin @xterraplanet @friscotriathlonclub @zootsports @getrawsport by @rountree.christopher

Late post! Entered my first ever "Olympic" triathlon in June (the swim turned out to be the Waco Half Ironman 1.2 mile distance not the shorter Olympic swim) the @electrolit_triwaco race. Despite me having a slow swim (6 minutes down on the first out of the water, I had the best bike, run & transition splits for the day & came home in 1st place overall. @rockbridgerunner put on another great race, thanks to all the volunteers & other competitors that really made the day. Triathletes are the best community. Next race up the Ironman 70.3 world champs in Nice, France! @cervelo @fasttt.bike @ekoicycling @rudyproject @ezgains.co.uk @hedwheels @saucony @garmin #triathlete @friscotriathlonclub #triathlon #kiwi @ironmantri @ironmanamericas by @rountree.christopher

In June I completed my 3rd half Ironman in Omaha. 2nd in my age group & 24th overall out of 1303. Swim was not great, but had an awesome bike with the 18th fastest bike split & solid run considering lack of run training due to injuries. The best thing about the trip was that @markmlitton qualified for the World Champs! Myself, @bswelty & Mark have been competing together & now all 3 of us will be at the Worlds! I think I was more excited than he was 😂. @ironmanamericas @ironmantri @cervelo @rudyprojectna @saucony @xterraplanet @ekoicycling @hedwheels @2xu @garmin #ironman #triathlete #triathlon @friscotriathlonclub by @rountree.christopher

Long overdue post, completed my second 70.3 race, the Dallas Half Ironman in March. Well I say a half Ironman but due to high winds the swim was cancelled but they still sent us out on our bikes 😂 had a good ride & despite pulling my calf at mile 8 of the run still managed to shave a few minutes off my half marathon. 3rd place in my age group, 27th overall & a slot for the World Champs in France this September. Also another race competing with the boys @bswelty & @markmlitton which was awesome especially as Shane also made the Worlds. @cervelo @saucony @xterraplanet @rudyproject @profile_design @sramroad @ironmantri @ironmanamericas #triathlon #triathlete #kiwi #dallas by @rountree.christopher

I just came across this, USA Triathlon has me ranked number 1 in the country for my age group. 17 months after starting this journey, it wasn't my goal, but after all the hours training and sacrifice I am definitely going to enjoy however long I am there! #triathlon #triathlete @cervelo @hedwheels @saucony @xterraplanet @2xu #dallas #usa🇺🇸 @rudyproject @friscotriathlonclub by @rountree.christopher

First place overall & nearly 4 minutes ahead of 2nd place yesterday at the @playtri Fort Worth Sprint Triathlon. Have been battling a calf injury since the Texas State Champs so sticking to the short races for now. Really wanted to break the hour mark, but needed to be fully fit for that. Very well run event & big thanks to all the volunteers & crew that put the race on. Also thanks to all those who competed, triathletes really are a great bunch of humans. 3 weeks before the next race so rehab is again priority again. #triathlete #triathlon @friscotriathlonclub @cervelo @ekoicycling @2xu @saucony @rudyproject #kiwi #swimbikerunworld @xterraplanet @hedwheels by @rountree.christopher

Bittersweet day at the Texas State Champs. 1st place Masters, 2nd place overall. Last year I was leading this race when I took a wrong turn on the run & got disqualified. This year pulled my calf going into 1st transition. Best bike split of the day, but against good competition running with a limp wasn't going to get the win 😣. They say third times a charm, so I'll be back next year! #triathlete #triathlon #kiwi #swimbikerun #texas @saucony @cervelo @rudyproject @2xu by @rountree.christopher

Race recap @napiertrifestival 2026 NZ Sprint Championships. In 2025 this race was my first triathlon, I finished 113th place in 1.14:57. Here in 2026 I was 3rd in my age group, 29th overall in 1.07:39. Big thanks to @trevorrooderkerk for getting me back into the sport. I will be representing team USA at the World Champs in Spain in September & I'm stoked to say that Trevor has qualified for team NZ so we both get to race again on the world stage this time around! @saucony @giantbicycles @ekoicycling @xterraplanet @usatriathlon #triathlete #triathlon #swimbikerun taken in Napier, New Zealand by @rountree.christopher
