the last leg from the great lakes.. hoping my cold plunge jumping into lake superior got me an extra few wimhof years. 😂 48 degrees! omg! (tho pasty hand pies and cinnamon roll pancakes prolly neutralized any longer lifespan.) boats, my beau, lighthouses, searching for stones, relinquishing a pristine beach to the flies by hiding in the tent, bald eagles, books and fog <3 munising, pictured rocks > grand marais > over the mackinaw bridge > petoskey > charlevoix what a treat to get to such clear water. taken in Lake Superior by @roxanneturpen

Tour de Lakes day 2: Sleeping Bear Dunes > point oneida > Leelanau peninsula > Grand Traverse lighthouse

when i was 22 and an intern at nat geo i helped put together a spread about sleeping bear dunes for the Traveler magazine. at the time i thought, oh that looks cool i’d like to go there. just a lil while later it *really was* cool to finally check out this national park! giant dunes, grasses and turquoise waters! when i was a kid we always drove up to the east side of michigan, so it’s been so fun to explore the western (esp NW) side of it now. such gorgeous and clear waters!

i have to remind myself we are so lucky to be able to grow older! and somehow i believe we’re still every age we’ve ever been. thanks to all who helped me feel so good about launching into this next decade on sunday. 🥰🌺💞🌴✨ and i rly can’t get over the last slide here on my first *and perhaps only* attempt to recreate an old photo, lol. xx mahalo, y’all!
