2 YEARS LATER: More Muscle & Now Losing Fat Is EASIER! Here’s why. In the first slide on the left was my last show in 2023 versus where I am this year 2025 - 2 years apart! Historically, every prep has required what same may find as very low calories and higher amounts of cardio to lose the required amount of body fat to be stage lean. The problem was, our feedback was always “Leaner” You may look at that picture and think, “how much leaner?” On the second slide, on the left, is me in my peak off-season. To the untrained eye, you may look at my shape and think that there is a substantial amount of muscle (particularly in glutes). Wrong. A blessing for some, but not for stage. because our variables had historically been exhausted(low cals/high cardio) east lower more beneficial approach had to be taken to reap the benefits we are now, long term! 7 weeks into my cut (slide2, right) we’re eating 3x the amount of calories with WEEKLY high carb days, doing 1/3 of the cardio we’ve had to do in the past. Why? By adding MORE MUSCLE over time, we’ve increased my metabolic set point allowing for a faster, stronger metabolism! Hers the kick… I’m the SAME WEIGHT in both pics in slide 2 - 1 full year apart! It’s often very easy to slip into the mindset of wanting QUICK results without ever thinking of the long term repercussions. Hence why these methods leave most people in a yo-yo dieting/cardio cycle and NEVER CHANGE! Slow. Progressive. Building on your progress from the day before. That’s how you build SUSTAINABLE results that will@last a lifetime!! Drop a ♥️ below if you want to see more like this from @amerthehammer and I !! by @roxymclachlan

WELCOME TO THE LYF COACHING TEAM, JACKIE! This one is special to us. @jackiefit.world has been with us since the very beginning of LYF Coaching. For the past five years she’s been coached both online and on the gym floor by Roxy and Ryan, learning firsthand what it takes to build habits, create structure and achieve results that last. From complete beginner to successfully competing in multiple HYROX solo and doubles events with incredible results, Jackie has truly lived the process we teach. Now she gets to help others do the same! Jackie is ISSA certified and working toward her @csesglobal certification. Over the past few weeks she’s undergone extensive hands on training alongside our coaching team, learning our systems and the standards we hold every coach accountable to. And she is officially welcoming new clients to the LYF HQ gym floor! If you’re brand new to training, unsure where to start, struggling to build a routine or simply want someone to teach you proper form and help you build confidence in the gym, Jackie is ready to help you build that foundation. Whether you’ve never stepped foot in a gym or you’ve struggled to stay consistent on your own, you don’t need to have it all figured out before getting started. We couldn’t be more excited to see her step into this new role and help others experience the same growth she has over the years. Welcome to the team, Coach Jackie!🤍 DM “START” to inquire about training with Jackie at LYF HQ. by @roxymclachlan
Hope this reminder keeps you going —even if you were ready to give up just this week! Share this with someone who needs it today 🤍 by @roxymclachlan
Yesterday I had a conversation with one of my best friends about how hard it can be to pivot when something doesn’t go the way you planned. We put so much pressure on where we think we should be and what we should have achieved by now. Sometimes it’s our own expectations and sometimes it’s what we think other people expect of us… so when plan A doesn’t work we take it personally. It’s almost as if we start questioning ourselves & our worth because the outcome didn’t match what we worked for. Coming 2nd at my last show taught me this. I was really disappointed. I believed in what my coach and I had worked towards… but it went beyond being disappointed with my placing. I felt like I might have disappointed him too. In that moment I was so caught up in what hadn’t happened that I forgot we could come up with a plan B. We CAN take the feedback & make adjustments to keep moving forward. That result didn’t erase the work I had done or mean I wasn’t capable of reaching my goal… nor did it erase the growth I’ve had over the past year! Moving into my next season as an athlete I want to carry this lesson with me & teach it to my own clients. We can give ourselves permission to believe fully in plan A without letting the outcome determine how we feel about who we are. You can give something everything you have and still need to change your approach. You’re allowed to be disappointed when you don’t achieve something you worked for. But having to pivot doesn’t make you a failure. It means you have to figure out your next move and learn how to execute it. Honestly… more often than not these are the moments that make the wins so much more special because you know what it took to get there🤍 by @roxymclachlan
Until you’ve had to experience it yourself, there’s no words to really describe the feeling of having to say goodbye to your best friend and mom indefinitely —not knowing when the next hug is going to be🥺 When I told my mom we were finally signing our papers & getting rebaptized —there was no conversation or invitation needed, she was here …period😅 She finally got to step foot into our beloved HQ Met my dude Haze Witnessed me marry the love of my life Recommit our marriage to God Saw me compete again after 10 years & I got to surprise her with 4 days in Mexico Basically took them on honeymoon 😂 Wouldn’t change it for the world Miss her already. Soon I’ll have her here permanently, so don’t keep asking why we don’t take vacations LOL now you know why. by @roxymclachlan
And just like that, my 3rd and final show of the season has come to pass. 🤍 We took home 2nd place!!! 🥈 And honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. I couldn’t be more proud of what I’ve accomplished through this relentless pursuit of improvement. I stood on this same stage just 16 weeks ago — this time facing arguably even tougher competition. And somehow, in just a few short months, I managed to climb from 5th place to 2nd place on a National Stage. The growth. The improvements. The package I brought to the stage. It’s nothing short of spectacular, and I’m incredibly proud of what we accomplished this past weekend. Bodybuilding may be an incredibly personal sport, but it truly takes a village. My prep coaches, posing coach, friends, family, coworkers, and even my cats 😂 have stood by my side every step of the way — never letting me stay down for long and always finding a way to pick me back up when things got tough. Because this sport isn’t just about building a body. It’s a mental and emotional game, too. You’ll be tested in ways you never imagined. You’ll discover just how capable you are when you’re pushed far outside your comfort zone. You’ll do things you never thought you would… like adding water to your meals for more substance and somehow actually enjoying it. 😂😂 My coach Roxy said it best: “Come back better or don’t bother — there’s no other option!!!” Say less, Coach. 🤍 Three shows. One season. Countless hours of work, sacrifice, discipline, tears, lessons, growth and a whole lot of showing up when I didn’t feel like it. I’m walking away from this season incredibly proud — not just of the physique I built, but of the woman I became along the way. 2nd place on a National Stage. 🥈 What a way to close out the season. A beautiful show day weekend in the books. A 2nd place 🥈 finish again at our second @canadian_national_proqualifier together, @amerthehammer and I are very clear on the steps needed to improve this package and placing. While I can’t say I wasn’t disappointed, I can say I’m not shy of hard work & whether we got the card or not this weekend the work wouldn’t have changed. Im so absolutely proud of the ridiculous improvements we made in such a short time & even more excited for the next phase !! I love the growth this sport forces you to face. That’s what keeps my fire lit. Come back better or don’t bother —there’s no other option!!! Some beautiful shots taken this weekend on stage♥️♥️ by @roxymclachlan
A birthday full of gratitude 🥹🎈🎂 There’s something special about going into a new year of life doing something you’re so passionate about and having so many of my loved ones and special people with me. Everyone keeps asking how I feel & honestly the best word to describe today is PEACE. Grateful for another year, my loved ones, my mentors & my husband. I will gladly be spamming you today and for the next coming days so stick around —we’re going out there to have some fun 💃🏽 I also can’t believe in 5 years from being 40 & I still feel 23 😂 by @roxymclachlan
