Three years of flying have (ahem) flown by!

Thanks @duffspaul @theflightacademy @dillonhsn @helencernik @scottgorskiaviation @cirruslifepilot @cmhbaxter @gelinaspeter @rumblebairshows @markcunninghamaerosports and all the amazing folks in the aerobatic community and @iac_67 for getting me started on this road and then dramatically expanding my flight envelope.

Big thanks to @cirrusaircraft and @americanchampionaircraft for making some kick ass airplanes!

It’s been an absolute blast - have come a long way and yet there’s still so much more to learn! Excited to keep after it.

Three sessions in and I’m hooked. Acrobatics or “acro” training is awesome. Here’s my first day doing loops and this is a loop into an aileron roll. This was my third session.

This was in a Super Decathlon. Did my tailwheel rating and then continued into spin recovery and acro.

Definitely got a little queasy each session but got more and more comfortable after each session and was able to tolerate Gs for longer and longer. Apparently this is normal and it passes.

Highly recommend at least the spin recovery work. Definitely ups your confidence as a pilot knowing you can recover from some wild positions.

Getting used to full control deflection after being told to be gentle on the controls is wild. Also, 80° steep turns just rock!

🛬👀: side by side views of the landing sight picture differences between the @extraaircraft 330SC and the @cirrusaircraft SR22T. (Linked reel is a Vision Jet)

The Extra is a low wing monoplane taildragger and I was coming in for a wheel landing after acrobatics practice at Ephrata, WA. The SR22T is a low wing tricycle configuration and this is landing at Boeing Field on an RNAV approach.

In the Extra, you lose sight of the runway and use your peripheral vision while the Cirrus gives you a great view of the runway throughout. Both have glass cockpits (G3X and G1000). And remember, you’re not done flying a taildragger until you’re parked!)

The Extra is an aerobatic competition beast (+/-10G!) and the SR22T is basically a personal airliner. Two different missions and two amazing airplanes!

🛬💪- Happy with this landing at Boeing Field. Airspeed jumped ten knots on short final and we experienced some crosswind gusts. Touchdown was a good one thankfully.

This was on a return flight from Ashland, OR (S03, just past Medford) to pick up @sevypathak and a friend.

Intercepting the localizer for the ILS Rwy 14R at Boeing Field on a picture-perfect Seattle day in the @cirrusaircraft SR22T.

We are so lucky to fly in the #PNW. Mt. Rainier, Elliott Bay, Downtown Seattle, blue skies, and the last remnants of the low morning fog. Love this approach on any day but this was spectacular!

This was returning from a trip down to Medford, OR. More pics and clips soon.

🧈🧈🛬: Buttered the landing at Paine Field after a great flight home from aerobatics camp at Ephrata, WA.

Super happy with the landing since it was my first real greaser in the Extra and I had an audience! (There was a B777 on a test flight holding short for me - no pressure 😅

First attempts at learning to snap roll in the @extraaircraft 330SC.

“Pitch up, then immediately punch yourself hard in the left knee with the stick. Stop everything with rudder and neutralize the controls as you come around.” Easy - I’ll get right on that 🤔😅🤣

(Yes, I need a lot of practice but you have to start somewhere.) Long way to go before I get things dialed in but what a blast! This was at the @iac_67 mini camp at Ephrata, WA.

The first two clips are exterior and interior views of a full snap. Last segment is a half snap where I lost my sunglasses. Thought I had secured them but not well enough, clearly. Landed immediately to retrieve them. Lesson learned.

Thanks @cmhbaxter for the patient and expert coaching!
