What a year so far.

I thought this was going to be, just another year. I was wrong on many levels. And, there are so many people that have made it better. So, many!

This year started like so many others. Pick up still having issues. Weather never cooperating. And event schedules just not wanting to come out so I can plan. Well, the schedule worked (for the most part). The pick up is still having issues. And life is grand.

What makes it spectacular? Well, I started with new equipment. Thank you, Brother, you ROCK!

A normal fly-by on a cool wet morning turned into a cover of a great organization's monthly newsletter. Thank you, Oregon Pilots Association and Skywagon_life for the opportunity.

I found out that the voice of the IAC was going to use some of my photos for the magazine. It's happened before and it's very cool being published. But finding out that I made the cover is beyond awesome. Thank you, Taylor and AJ. And if anybody has any extra copies of the Sport Aerobatics magazine, I could use a few more.

And also for this month. I have become a student pilot. A very long time dream that has begun. Turns out, I'm not too big (fat). And I don't need to buy an airplane before starting. Thank you, Eryn, you're an awesome person.

Also this year. I have grown as a photographer. And that is because of the people that follow, like and share my work. Those that have given me the opportunity to come and photograph events. That have shown the support for my work. Thank You, each and every one of you.

And for all of those that still owe me money for photos, well, yeah, I kind of need it now. So, pay up! YKWYA

After my mom passed last year, it reminds you of how short and precious time with your loved ones is, especially as an adult.

With the generous help of @rp_flying I surprised my dad for his 80th birthday with a flight to the Soo Locks which has become a fascination of his over the past few of years.

Call someone today and tell them you love them. It’s powerful. ❤️

Haha… looks like I’d better make a not-so-quick post!

Yes, I sold my 330SC.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I haven’t been flying it enough. I was generally showing up at contests not as prepared or as sharp as I wanted to be. Looking back, it wasn’t really a lack of time as much as a shift in priorities. Practicing simply hasn’t been one of them for the past couple of years.

Airplanes are meant to be flown, and it didn’t make sense to have that much hardware sitting idle. So I made the decision to let the airplane go.

Congratulations, @rp_flying on the new ride. It’s a fantastic example of an amazing machine, and I’m sure it will give you many years of learning, growth, and enjoyment—however far you choose to take it.

As for what’s next for me, we’ll see. I still own a DHC-1 Chipmunk and plan to compete in Advanced this fall in the same GB1 I flew a couple of years ago in Unlimited (thanks again to @skybolt15 ). After that, time will tell.

In the meantime, I’ll still be around—coaching (Corvallis this week), helping others on their aerobatic journey, and being part of the community.
