I SAID I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO SCHOOL 😂

And honestly, there was a time when I meant every word of it. I had already convinced myself that school wasn’t for me. I was lost in the field of study I had chosen, questioning whether I was even on the right path. I remembered all the subjects I hated, all the things I struggled with, and all the reasons I told myself I couldn’t do it. But at some point, I had to stop allowing my fear of the unknown to dictate what I was capable of becoming.

This journey wasn’t just about going back to school. It was about overcoming myself.

It was about pushing through days when I didn’t have the motivation, finding the strength to keep going while dealing with the grief of losing my mom, and learning how to carry that pain without allowing it to stop my progress. There were moments when life felt heavy, but I knew I had something bigger to work toward.

I also had to remember that I’m not just doing this for myself. I’m setting an example for my son. I want him to grow up understanding that it’s okay to change directions, it’s okay to start over, and it’s NEVER too late to pursue something you once thought was out of reach. I want him to see that discipline, consistency, and determination will take you places that excuses never will.

Most importantly, I made a promise to myself. To become everything I said I would become. To stop talking about the things I wanted to accomplish and actually put the work behind my words. I didn’t want to keep being the person with all the plans and potential. I wanted to become the person who followed through.

And today, I can proudly say I did what I said I would do. Not without obstacles, not without setbacks, and definitely not without moments of doubt, but I DID IT!

This accomplishment means more to me than a certificate, a grade, or a title could ever explain. It represents growth, sacrifice, resilience, and a promise kept to myself.

Sometimes God prepares you for a change before you even understand why it’s coming. When He’s ready to take you somewhere new, He’ll change your environment, your mindset, your relationships, and sometimes your plans. The hardest part isn’t always the change it’s accepting that you’re becoming someone you’ve never been before. For years, my mom, teachers, and people around me told me I would be a leader. I never really saw it in myself. Then came the Royalty Run Club. What started as an idea became a community, a purpose, and honestly, one of the greatest joys of my life. It’s kept me grounded and reminded me that leadership isn’t just about leading others—it’s about allowing the people around you to shape, teach, and inspire you too. Sometimes others recognize who you are before you recognize it yourself. I’ve always wanted a family, and somehow I found one through something I built from the ground up. Mile by mile. Person by person. Together. That’s what purpose feels like. It feels like realizing, “This is where I’m supposed to be.” So I’m learning to embrace change, trust God’s timing, and become the person He’s preparing me to be. Maybe that person was always inside me. I just had to be willing to run toward him. by @rr.fiit
