“View Source is a work of code in poetry. It is dedicated to the proposition that behind every writing lies (an)other writing. Composed in Internet programming languages, each poem is a functioning web page featuring syntax highlighting for easy reading. To approach the work differently, open the accompanying HTLM files with your web browser.

To have a look at the book as your computer would : guybennett.com/vs_html.zip

48 pages. A5 format. Softcover. 11 EUR.

A paperback anthology of Avocado Ibuprofen’s popular Instagram illustrated stories divests them of images, leaving an accomplished literary portrait in 122 chapters of a corrupted artworld. But beyond the witty tirades and the (mostly) entertaining sniping, writes Ben Eastham, is a curiously old-fashioned and earnest faith in the value of art and literature.

We are happy to announce the release of « Taking Stock », an artist’s book by Michael Mandiberg @mmandiberg

“From 2022 to 2023 I collected every stock photograph of an individual person on the internet. The metadata from these 130 million images included 3.4 billion keywords. As part of the process for making images and videos, I used Machine Learning statistical tools to surface the dominant themes in these images. Taking Stock (Topics 0-63) makes the themes in 3.3 billion image keywords legible in 64 simple but effective tag clouds. Stock photos permeate our visual culture, but we almost never stop to think about them. These images pretend to be neutral placeholders in websites, flyers, and public service announcements, but they are laced with ideology. Their ubiquity alone makes them a worthy subject of exploration. But their use as a key AI training dataset makes understanding them an urgent task. If AI tools treat stock photos as factual information, I want to understand what AI is learning about us.”

Edition of 200 copies. 64 pages. 20 x 30 cm. Link in bio

RRose’s 40th book !
« Skédiama & Nous / & Us » by Patrick Tresset @patricktresset

Patrick Tresset will sign his book this Saturday June 13th 5-7pm at Artverse Paris, 3 bis rue de Beauce @artverseparis

Bilingual edition. 200 copies. 23 x 33 cm. 64 pages. Printed on Materica Clay 250g & Arena Rough White 120g. 24 Eur. Link in bio

“This book is a collection of conversations with Skédiama, a young drawing machine. Skédiama is an embodied computer intelligence, a technical entity endowed with a vast knowledge of human culture. Its drawings are constructed, not generated; they are traced line by line, executed by a robotic arm whose characteristics influence the style. Its visual langage is elementary: it assembles lines, circles, hatching, and scribbles. Despite the illusion of encounter, Skédiama remains a pure computer system, confined to a purely mechanical necessity. I am the only living being in this book; the machine, for its part, merely traces the lines of an imaginary complicity that I myself have constructed.”

Book launch next week at Biblioteka Art Book Fair in the Warburg Institute in London, June 12-13, organized by @biblioteka_library @theeverydaypressbunkerbasement :
« A is for Art / A is for Arrow » by Claude Closky @closkygram

This children’s alphabet book by Claude Closky unfolds as a reversible object that can be read from both ends. Each direction comprises 26 pages, forming two complete alphabets that meet at the center. The same black-and-white drawings appear in both readings, but their meaning shifts with orientation. Each image is associated with two different letters: a paintbrush becomes “A for Art” in one direction and “Y for Yellow” in the other; a heart reads as “H for Heart” on one side and “L for Like” on the reverse.

By reassigning images to multiple letters, the book gently unsettles the apparent stability of language and representation. What seems fixed—a form, a word, an initial—reveals itself to be relative, dependent on context and point of view. Through this simple yet playful device, Closky transforms the learning of the alphabet into an exercise in perception, where reading becomes reversible and meaning remains open.

At once educational and conceptual, the book invites children and adults alike to explore the fluid relationship between images, words, and interpretation.

52 pages. A5 format. Stapled binding. 10 EUR

Lucy Helton has built “Relic”, a multi-analogue fax machine installation that prints book-pages live. Fax machines themselves are relics, possible technofossils – man-made objects that become part of Earth’s future geological record. The thermal prints of files remotely sent by contributing artists are used to produce a collective book work, with images relating to photography, technological artifacts or image transmission, making the book and the installation meta.

Each book is unique, assembled in London in May and June 2026.
