In the days leading up to 38 (today), I decided I wanted to focus on REST. 🤎 So I planned a staycation and spent 3 days downtown this past weekend with a beautiful view, lots of self-care, 3 actual meals a day (which, honestly, rarely happens 🫥), plenty of sleep, some music, and a whole lot of of reading and just sitting with myself.

If there’s one thing I’m taking away from this staycation, it’s this: I NEED TO DO THIS A LOT MORE.

Today, on my actual birthday, I’m continuing the celebration by doing absolutely nothing. 😂 No agenda. No rushing. Just REST. I’m finally understanding that rest is productive, too.

What makes a great event? For me, it’s good food, good music, and an experience that stays with you long after the moment has passed. ✨

But from a marketing perspective, a great event should also have a purpose. Whether you’re launching a product, showcasing a venue, or promoting your services, the goal is to create an experience that leaves people wanting more!

Wolfgang Puck Catering understood the assignment at their mixer last month at the Georgia Aquarium! 🐠🥂

I got to tag along with the iU Events team (Anna and Evan) for an evening filled with great food, networking, and an opportunity to explore one of Atlanta’s most iconic venues. Not only did we get to experience the aquarium as an event space (hello, venue marketing!), but we also got to explore the aquarium itself!

A great reminder that the best events don’t just create a moment. They create an opportunity to build connections, showcase possibilities, and leave a lasting impression.

I know I’m late sharing, but some experiences are still worth a post! 🖤

🎶 Thank you for a lovely time, D.C.✨ Today wraps my 2nd event in DC with Sasha Bruce Youthwork and the DC Prevention Center Wards 5 & 6, through the amazing Creative Studio, Ideas United!

I’m so grateful to have been part of these conversations around opioid awareness, wellness, recovery, and the incredible work happening across the community.

I’m celebration of today’s event, I am sharing some memories from our first event at the historic Miracle Theatre in Capitol Hill for International Overdose Awareness Day last month! Life has been so busy, I haven’t had the chance to share these!

If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, check out the Carpool’s Drive-In Film Festival @carpoolsdrivein before it wraps up tomorrow! 🎬✨

I had the chance to attend the Roadmap to Distribution panel, where my college friend (screenwriter/producer) @jenniferpessima dropped so many gems. I learned a ton about the business side of filmmaking and distribution, and honestly, so much of it applies to live event production too.

If you’re into film, content creation, or just want to connect with some incredible creatives and industry movers and shakers, this is the place to be. Plus, there are screenings, networking opportunities, and great programming all weekend.

Today marks the last day of Fibroid Awareness Month, but the conversation shouldn’t end here.

For years, I quietly dealt with fibroids while still trying to show up for life, work, family, and everything in between. Most people had no idea what I was carrying because so much of this journey is invisible.

We make so many assumptions based on what we can see, but some of the hardest battles leave no visible signs. Sometimes the strongest person in the room is simply doing their best to hold it together.

This month, I had the honor of being part of the inaugural “Making Room Session” with Around the Way Dreams, beautifully produced by the incredibly talented photographer Melissa Alexander. Alongside five other amazing women, I shared my story in hopes that someone else feels seen, heard, or encouraged to advocate for their health. We were each charged with bringing fruit that resembled the size of your fibroid … let that sink in…

It’s been a minute, I know. 😅
I’ve been drowning in work lately… but in the best way possible. And I’m so grateful because I remember just 24 months ago praying for more opportunities, trying to figure out what was next, and hoping for enough work to pay the bills.

Fast forward to today… and here we are. 🙌🏾

A few things I’ve been up to lately:

✨ Still doing amazing work with Ideas United and supporting a meaningful nonprofit project out of DC.

✨ Back in Tennessee (but for a different reason this time!) working behind the scenes with the Miss Tennessee Teen Volunteer and Miss Tennessee Volunteer pageants.

✨ Creating something really fun with a college friend — a project centered around sustainability, community, and creativity. 👀 More on Koral K Swap soon!

✨ Continuing my work with Youth Enrichment Services, bringing arts opportunities to youth in Atlanta and Detroit. This one will always be close to my heart because the arts helped shape who I am today.

Life has been a reminder that the things we pray for don’t always happen on our timeline… but when they do, they can be better than we imagined.

Now excuse me while I get back to these emails, production schedules, and making all these ideas happen. 😂

Despite the rain, I made it out for the final Saturday of the FIFA Fan Festival in Atlanta. ⚽️🌧️ And I’m so glad I did! There’s nothing like being in the middle of all the excitement and seeing people from all over the world come together over the love of the game. The World Cup energy is unmatched!

This year has been full of answered prayers…and 60+ hour work weeks. A few weeks ago, I had my first panic attack while driving. It was the wake-up call I needed to stop ignoring what my body had been trying to tell me.

I’m learning that success isn’t just about landing new contracts—it’s about protecting my mental, physical, and spiritual health too. Balance is no longer optional. 🤍

I finally built this LEGO flower bouquet my Soror gifted me many months ago (thank you @rahel613), and now it sits on my desk as a reminder: while I’m building my business, I’m also making room for a new version of me to bloom.

She won’t be the same Rhea… she’ll be an even better one 🌻. by @rsvpmeplease
