🎥 RUARUM Film Club Presents: Fréwaka (2024), directed by Aislinn Clarke 🎥

Join us on Tuesday 27 October at 17:30 to celebrate Samhain with a screening of Irish horror Fréwaka. 👻 🎃

Tickets cost €3 with popcorn provided—book through the link in our bio. This film is rated 15+

Haunted by personal tragedy, home care worker, Shoo, is sent to a remote village to care for an agoraphobic woman who fears the neighbours as much as she fears Na Sidhe—sinister entities who she believes abducted her decades before. As the two develop a strangely deep connection, Shoo is consumed by the old woman’s paranoia, rituals, and superstitions, eventually confronting the horrors from her own past.

RUARUM is a monthly film club that takes place at Rua Red. Our goal is to bring new and exciting screenings to anyone who love movies and cinema. After all screenings, you are welcome to join us for a friendly chat to share your thoughts and debrief together!

Join us next Friday 16 October at 17:00 for the launch of Time Well Spent, an exhibition of artwork created across fourteen prisons, and in three post-release centres in Ireland.

The work has been selected and curated by Órla McGovern (@orlamygod). Over the past three months, McGovern and Irish Prison Service Arts Officer Tom Shortt have travelled to prisons throughout Ireland, meeting with artists in custody to discuss and select their work.

The exhibition explores how the practice of making art can transform lives, build self-esteem and encourage positive change. Working independently, with teachers and with visiting artists, participants produce drawings, landscapes, intricate models, ceramics, and colourful, imaginative works. The prison arts programme allows students the opportunity to reflect, explore and express themselves, supporting personal development and rehabilitation.

Join Swap 'Til Ye Drop in Rua Red this Friday 9 October from 17:00—21:00 for a clothes and book swap with the exciting addition of a repair café! 🪡 👗

If you're unfamiliar with how a clothes swap works, listen up—it's time to do that wardrobe clearout! Bring along up to 10 items of clothes, shoes, accessories or books to swap (clean and in good condition). We will take these off you at the door and our team will add them to the swap shop floor. Then you're free to go swapping from what everyone else has brought. It’s a chance for you to satisfy that want for something new, without hurting the planet or your wallet.

We will also be running our first ever repair/upcycling café. So bring along an item or two that needs some TLC and we can assist you in mending it.

This swap is supported by South Dublin County Council (@sdcc_arts), as recipients of the Local Environmental Action Fund 2026.
