I'm featured in the Emmy Award-winning documentary FINAL FINISHERS, the first short film made by @nyrr ! Tonight was the first time I saw this film, and I had no idea where I would show up in it, so I'm so grateful for @hannahgavios , powerhouse Achilles athlete and one of the stars of this film, for filming this! This was the last time I saw my dear friend Jim Diego, who sang the National Anthem at the start for the later waves and didn't even run that year, but he stuck around to cheer on all of the finishers, including a friend of his who was finishing their first marathon, and half an hour after his friend finished, and I finally made it Central Park. When he saw me, he asked me "Are you ready to become a Streaker???" since that was my 15th TCS New York City Marathon. I said "YES!" I sobbed my face off, as I usually do, and I had my husband, little sisters and my mom waiting for me, and Jim holding my hand to the finish on my 15th TCS New York City Marathon. We took our obligatory selfies (it was "our tradition"), gave each other hugs, and then he went home. I had no idea that that was going to be the last time I would ever see him, since he passed away a month later at the age of 38. It was because of Jim that I got to sing the National Anthem for the NYC Marathon and NYRR races. He was a star, but he was also everyone's biggest cheerleader. I'm so happy that his love and light are captured forever in an Emmy Award-winning film. Love you forever, Jim. 💖🏅 @nycmarathon by @rubenbeaut

Tonight I FINALLY got to see the EMMY AWARD-WINNING short film by @nyrr , FINAL FINISHERS! Thanks to @achillesnyc for having the screening tonight! It was wonderful being in that room with so many incredible athletes who have resilience and grit like no other! I also got to see my part in it, which was filmed the last time I saw my dear friend Jim Diego before he passed away. It was also wonderful seeing so many friends in this film! The stories in this film were amazing, and I'm so proud to be able to take part in the greatest race in the world, the TCS New York City Marathon , with the strongest humans who push themselves to the finish line no matter what life hands them. Inspired by everyone! 💖🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏅🥰 @janhart26 @hannahgavios @chickenunderwear @vhartman711 @rebecca.lindenbaum @achilles_international @nycmarathon by @rubenbeaut

The BEST thing that I got from someone at New York Comic Con: A tiny MetroCard from @artbyanalina who was the only other person I saw dressed in a Coney Island-themed cosplay! She was truly Miss Coney Island! Thank you sooo much, Analina! I will treasure this forever! 💖💖💖 @newyorkcomiccon #metrocard #newyorkcomiccon by @rubenbeaut

As a Judge for the New York Comic Con Talent Show, we each get to pick a "Judge's Choice," and my choice was Captain Keytar! There were sooo many talented performers, and it was sooo incredibly difficult picking the winners, but I ultimately chose the performer as my personal pick who brought me the most JOY while watching them perform. Congratulations, Captain Keytar! Thanks for bringing your unique talents and your light to the New York Comic Con stage! 💖🎹🎸⭐️🏆 @newyorkcomiccon #captainkeytar #newyorkcomiccontalentshow @captain_keytar taken in Jacob K Javits Convention Center by @rubenbeaut
