I keep thinking about that moment in time, just before something deep and inevitable happens. Everything is still as it was, but it’s right at the edge. It’s going to happen, but it hasn’t happened yet. And you can’t forget it.

The music video for Acid Rain by Lorn reminds me so much of this. That fragment of time. That suspension between what was and what’s about to be. Wanting to hold it there a little longer.

Last month, @mehdimejri and I had the incredible opportunity to present Deep Diving at the Bibliothèque nationale de France during the AI Action Summit in Paris.

This audiovisual installation explores the hidden rhythm of knowledge transmission, visualizing how machines perceive, process, and connect with human presence. Using volumetric captures, AI-driven segmentation, and real footage, we created a fragmented digital perspective—how a machine might “see” reality.
With @meta.ai Segment Anything 2 (SAM2), we detected and isolated people in video, dynamically integrating them into the volumetric world. AI-generated masks reshaped the 3D space in real-time, while custom shaders simulated the robotic TAD system’s unstable, glitching perception of data. Instead of a frozen volumetric state, the scene evolved as if the machine was trying to process and understand its connection to human presence.
It was an honor to introduce this work alongside Joelle Pineau, VP of AI Research at Meta, and to share it with French Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati.

Been experimenting with procedural locomotion on #GaussianSplat environments from @theworldlabs .
Built a little multi-legged robot in Unity that raycasts directly against the splat data to figure out where to place its feet, no meshes or colliders involved. It probes the terrain, plans footholds, and adapts its gait in real time. It can climb surfaces, walk on walls, and you can even change the number of legs on the fly.
Still rough around the edges but pretty fun to watch it figure things out :)
