Hi, I’m Ruby, founder and director of the Ms. Elko County Pageant and Leadership Program. I started this program towards the end of 2023 to provide a fun option for ladies in Northeastern Nevada. 🌟I provide service, networking, character development, and glamorous opportunities for kids, youth, and young adults. The annual Elko County Pageant is for girls and women, 5-30 years old, with divisions for Litttle, Preteen, Teen Miss, and Ms. 👑 Through pageants, I was challenged and grew personally, academically, and professionally. My desire is for the ladies who join this program to build confidence, learn new skills, make new friends, share their talents, serve their community, and discover their purpose. ✨I’m a wife, mom of two, and mining engineer by degree. Dad - a son’s first hero and a daughter’s first love ❤️When I became an adult, single woman I prayed fervently for God to bless me with a god-fearing man who would not only want to be a husband but also a present father. By God’s grace, I got exactly that through this man and I’m grateful each day. 🙏🏾He loves our babies so well and they love their dada so, so much! He leads, provides, and protects us. These three photos represent memorable moments this week. ONE: My husband preached a thought-provoking sermon on Sunday titled, “There’s Beauty and Power in Unity.” A call to action for us believers to be united and have our feet planted in the gospel. We must be about the name and fame of God. 🙏🏾 Listen to the sermon here: https://youtu.be/tiUwAriuRsUTWO: For the first time, our son got to sit in the sanctuary with the grownups and listen to his dad preach. Of course he’s three years old and couldn’t sit still, so I couldn’t take notes throughout the sermon and just snuggled with my beautiful boy while listening to the message. He was attentive, and even made mentions of some of the things my husband talked about in the sermon later that day at home. 🫶🏾THREE: Our community group comprises of singles with no children to widowed with adult children. It’s such a blessing to have a diverse group of people who are in different seasons of life and that we pour into each other weekly. Most of us have very young children, so our gatherings are loud with toys and crayons scattered on the floor. For the last two weeks, my three-year-old son has asked to close us in prayer. There are some hard days in parenting but moments like this photo and hearing my baby boy’s sweet voice pray and call upon God reminds me that God is intentional for blessing us with these kids for such a time as this. They laugh and play but seeds are being planted as we disciple them, and they are observing our walk with God. ✝️#faith #family #motherhood #legacy #christian by @ruby_b_sutton

Congratulations to our 2025 Queens who received Certificates of Recognition from Governor Joe Lombardo for being titleholders in the Ms. Elko County Pageant and Leadership Program. 🌟 Unbeknownst to them, they were given this award at our Royal Tea Party on May 16. 🎉In partnership with the Office of the Governor of Nevada, program director Ruby B. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY 💙🩷One of my desires in life was to be a mom. When I was single, one of my non-negotiable items in my “future husband list” was a man of God who wants to have and love his children. My husband and I talked about kids on our first date. When we were engaged and going through premarital counseling, we continued to express our desire for kids, even if God doesn’t give them to us through natural conception. 🙏🏾We suffered loss in my first pregnancy, and then God blessed us with these two beautiful and smart babies in His time. In my few years as a mother, I’m learning that motherhood comes with many blessings and lessons. I’m thankful to God for answering our prayers for the gift of children and entrusting my husband and I with these precious little souls.
