My DREAMS came true and @fruitionpdx played their last atlanta show at @badearl and we danced and sang and hugged and cried. It was DREAMY. I am so proud of these wonderful folks and the music they create and the rooms they make. (The @atlantadream also clenched their spot in the finals while the set was going and we all chanted for that too.) by @ruby_beth

years before she died my mama took all of the special tee shirts from my teens and 20s and asked our friend @debrastuff to create a quilt for me to hold on to these meaningful relics forever. debbie created this incredible art which now hangs in our house. even though Debbie noted how warm it is, I couldn’t bring myself to put it on a bed because I really love being able to look at it every single day. so many important people in my life were represented by the groups on these tees. Thank you Mama. by @ruby_beth

Lavender season. Happy cozy era birthday Papa “DAD!!!!” Taylor. Our home would be a pile of dirty dishes and stacked laundry without you. And literally who knows when Lazuli would get to school. You are the engine of this wild contraption. We love you dearly and deeply. by @ruby_beth

Lavender Lee Beth-Ann Buitechamp was born at home on April 18th. It is very, very sweet around here. Our tender wild Lazuli is smitten and asks to be close to Lavender/Baby/Babes as much as possible. During my tough pregnancy Lazuli made it clear that the baby was beloved and told us that her name really needed to start with an L. We thought about gem stones to go with Lazuli and then Zu suggested “flower.” Lee was Taylor’s big brother’s middle name. He was meticulous and beloved. Beth-Ann was my mama’s name and this baby was born in her house. My mama used to always say “I hope I am around for your babies,” with such fervor.

It feels important to say publicly that I gave birth at home. My desire to give birth at home was not without reservation. Lazuli was born in a hospital and spent 6 days being treated for an infection in the NICU. This decision to try home required a lot of processing of lazulis birth and an important practice that only gets sharper as I age: (Continued in comments) by @ruby_beth
