POSTS STORIES REELS

hi! I’m Ruby! people also call me “Rubes” and “a bit much”! there’s a few new friends around here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

other than an author of 6 (and counting?) romance books and co-host of @looncallpod with @adagetsliterary, I’m also:

✨a Scorpio
✨simultaneously an only child AND technically the middle of 5
✨anxious and depressed
✨loving
✨a cool mom, not like a regular mom
✨AuDHD
✨a Master of History
✨probably forgetting something, honestly!

I hope you like it here! and don’t forget to give @looncallpod a follow, too, for in-depth analysis and general fan-girling over Crave’s Heated Rivalry, and the Game Changers series by Rachel Reid, discussions about romance media, queer romance, sports romance, et al.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT 📢

Have you ever thought, that Juniper Moon gal looks alarmingly like Ruby Barrett just with devil horns? Well, you’d be right! We are the same person!

Alas, Ruby is too powerful to sustain a second pen name and she must absorb her author twin in Internet utero.

In other words, my monster romances will from now on be published under Ruby Barrett and Juniper Moon will go to a farm upstate 😇

Though, when you read Ruby’s monster romances, could you please imagine her as that devil-horned vixen? Thank you 😊

Now go read Caught By the Merman by Ruby Barrett 🧜‍♂️ by @rubybarrettwrite

Styling for @rachelreidwrites at @ottawawritersfest with @rubybarrettwrite ❤️‍🔥

I have long dreamt of putting Rachel into a pleated garment, with unexpected pops between the pleats, to feel like flipping through the pages of an incredible story 💭

When I first saw @waratah.avenue’s kilt with a PERFECTLY aligned design, I knew I had to reach out to them. They created this beautiful custom version, with the tour wardrobe’s colour palette in mind and little nods to this incredible series that Rachel has brought into our world.

You don’t always get to see innovation, risks and artfulness in the world of plus size styling. I really wanted to do something different for Rachel, and I am grateful to all of the creative folks who have worked hard to bring this tour wardrobe to life.

The hardest part of any creative brief is translating the way I picture things in my mind into words. Luckily, not only did I have one of my best friends doing the interpretation, she also happens to be one of the most creative, dynamic, and brilliant designers I’ve ever met.

@be.thearchetype looked inside my brain and pulled this new website out and I love it so much and it actually WORKS and the layout MAKES SENSE and it’s MOBILE-FRIENDLY which is so very much more than I can say about the website I’d created. And it’s so so pretty to look at.

Thank you so much Ada ❤️ everyone please click the link in my bio to see all her amazing work by @rubybarrettwrite

Just a few photos of Rachel Reid, @rubybarrettwrite, and nearly 900 of their close friends and loons. Huge thanks to Rachel, Ruby, @carleton_u , @fiertecappride for making the night so special, and to @_curtisperry for being on hand to capture it all! by @rubybarrettwrite
