That’s a wrap for class of 2026 Textiles at AUB🎓🌟

The best three years with the most talented, kind and amazing group of people! So proud to have graduated with a First Class with honours, I’ve learnt so so so much and gained so many brilliant connections and friends for life🫶🏼 So thankful for all of the support from tutors, techs, AUB staff, friends and family as I couldn’t have achieved this without them all!

Behind the scenes with @elledecorationuk and @rubybtextiles 📸

We’re delighted to announce that BA (Hons) Textile Design graduate Ruby Bowditch was featured as one of five young British designers to watch right now in this month’s issue of Elle Decoration UK.

Ruby is the only textiles designer who made the list, and the only recent graduate, having been interviewed by the magazine just two weeks after graduating from AUB 🎓

We were lucky to come along to the photoshoot with Ruby and photographer Andrew Urwin @aturwin in the Textiles studio on campus.

We are delighted to announce that Ruby Bowditch @rubybtextiles, BA (Hons) Textiles Design, is the winner of our 2026 Prize for Textiles at Arts University Bournemouth @inspiredaub.

Ruby's collection 'Form and Foliage' is a print and hard surface collection intended for communal office, lobby or outdoor terrace spaces. A range of wallpapers, tiles, wood panels and printed fabrics expresses the beauty of harsh brutalist architecture when combined with abundant plants and foliage. The project aimed to show innovation, craftsmanship and high quality finishes through trialling screen printing with different pigments and processes, laser cutting and etching, UV printed textiles and surfaces, digital print and Irish embroidery.

Ruby said:
'I am very honoured to have been awarded the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation prize for my graduate textile collection. Having my work recognised is so encouraging at the start of my career as a designer and I look forward to seeing where it will take me'.

The award was adjudicated by our Honorary Trustee Mary V. Mullin.

Madeline Dearlove and Sophie Laird were runners-up.

Had the opportunity to display some of my work at the @graduatefashionfoundation catwalk display today! Will be on all week at the Truman Brewery in London so go take a look. Was also amazing to have had my work included in the @inspiredaub stand there showing my FMP ⭐️⭐️⭐️ taken in Graduate Fashion Week by @rubybtextiles
