We are delighted to announce that Ruby Bowditch @rubybtextiles, BA (Hons) Textiles Design, is the winner of our 2026 Prize for Textiles at Arts University Bournemouth @inspiredaub.
Ruby's collection 'Form and Foliage' is a print and hard surface collection intended for communal office, lobby or outdoor terrace spaces. A range of wallpapers, tiles, wood panels and printed fabrics expresses the beauty of harsh brutalist architecture when combined with abundant plants and foliage. The project aimed to show innovation, craftsmanship and high quality finishes through trialling screen printing with different pigments and processes, laser cutting and etching, UV printed textiles and surfaces, digital print and Irish embroidery.
Ruby said:
'I am very honoured to have been awarded the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation prize for my graduate textile collection. Having my work recognised is so encouraging at the start of my career as a designer and I look forward to seeing where it will take me'.
The award was adjudicated by our Honorary Trustee Mary V. Mullin.
