A celebration that changed tone, but not meaning.

Poppy’s Batmitzvah began in pure joy… a young girl stepping proudly into Jewish adulthood, surrounded by love, family and light. Just 40 minutes later, heartbreaking news reached the room about the tragedy in Bondi, directly impacting so many of those present. In that moment, celebration felt impossibly hard. Phones were checked, hearts were heavy and the room shifted.

Yet the meaning of this day became even deeper. As Poppy was celebrating her Batmitzvah, rooted in faith, identity and the theme of light over darkness… we were reminded of who we are as Jewish people. Even in moments of pain, we choose to gather, to honour life and to hold joy and grief side by side 🤍

So grateful to have been trusted with such a profound and meaningful day and to witness the strength, unity and light that filled that room.
