As obras de Rui Major retratam estilos de vida e culturas underground com temáticas em torno da identidade e da tecnologia que o afetam, numa procura de estabelecer um diálogo entre os elementos identificáveis da realidade e as reações viscerais dos
pixels, desafiando as memórias, os pensamentos e ações, para que ecoem com o que sentimos, vemos e sabemos.
Ele propõe que tudo o que experienciamos é um recurso, em que a culminação de todas as memórias são na verdade o que nos define no presente.
Só uma ideia, um conceito, um pensamento, um sonho, podem existir e persistir, porque eventualmente são são as únicas coisas que podemos na verdade criar.
A corrupção de frequências para que se formem novos organismos, e assim criar novas formas de vida.
A nostalgia está morta.
É uma contemplação moderna da transmutação do erro feio para uma beleza acidental.

In February 2025, Mobster Lobster was privileged to documenting an inspiring three-month residency at Palácio dos Anjos, where Francisco Vidal @francisco.vidal.777 —an artist celebrated for intertwining Cubist influences, African textile motifs, and the pulse of 1980s hip-hop—collaborated with Rui Major @ruimajor_ .
Critics have noted Vidal’s work as a vibrant dialogue with colonial histories and contemporary identity, placing him among the key voices redefining Lusophone art.
This short loop captures the inception and the right beginning of that creative process—a testament to Vidal’s intellectually layered and culturally resonant artistry that he so brilliantly brought to life.

Throwback to spring 2024 — when @fiumani_ landed in Los Angeles for a one-month mission, stepping into his California debut with the Gasolene x Los Angeles solo show.
LA opened its doors wide: Sunset Boulevard as our dreamy front porch, @joeregan turning into a lifelong friend, tour guide and collaborator on a large-scale piece with Fiumani..
Opening day was no less special — @officialrobbykrieger took it all in and walked away with two of Fiumani’s works.
@ruimajor_ was there as the hand behind the setup, the eye for artistic direction, and the drive in production — all together with Filippo, embodying @themoblob ’s purpose of meaningful missions and values.

Through themes around identity and technology, i propose to establish a dialogue between identifiable elements of reality and the visceral reactions of pixels, challenging memories, thoughts and actions.
Glitch painted, the corruption of frequencies to create new organisms and forms, destroying images to create new images, in a modern day contemplation of the transmutation of ugly errors into accidental beauty.
