New York, you blow my mind!

I ran from Grand Central Station through crowded streets to find this incredible path along the harbor leading to Little Island. There’s an outdoor summer concert venue and a beachy place to sit! 🤯

My son ran his very first race today, the Cambridge Half Marathon, finishing in 1:50!! I could not be more proud of the way he executed this race (swipe to see those negative splits!). He ran a beautiful race!

The day after spectating the @bostonmarathon this year, he decided he would try to run a mile. Months later he’s making 13.1 miles look easy, and I’m excited to see where this takes him!

I fell in love with running in 2016. My older brother @suttinjacob convinced me to run a half relay with him. 6.2 miles felt SO far. He said, just find a training plan online. I found Hal Higdon’s novice training plan online and trained up to 8 miles. It felt amazing to run that far!
Race day was cold and rainy. I planned to run the first 10k. At the meetup point, I had more gas in the tank and he encouraged me to keep going. By mile 10 I wanted to quit, but because of the rain I didn’t have my phone. Or money for a bus. So I kept going.
I finished 13.1 miles in around 2.5 hours. I COULD NOT BELIEVE I’d done that! I’d just turned 40. The running spark was lit.
