Since the Chicago Marathon in 2017, I haven’t said a specific time goal out loud to anyone. Until this past week.🤫

Honestly? I didn’t sleep a wink because of it. I told multiple people that I wanted to break 30 minutes on this 5K, and the anxiety of putting that out into the universe kept me tossing and turning all night. 🌀

This morning, I toed the line with a racing heart. No hubby by my side, no running bestie here to support me. Just me, my thoughts, and a sea of strangers in the running community.

But today, the early mornings and brutal speed work training finally paid off. I DID IT. I broke 30 minutes! 🎉

It’s been a journey to get here—one that required a fainting spell and a cardiologist appointment to finally force me to fix my hydration. But standing here on the other side of that scary goal, I’m so glad I spoke it into existence. Trust your training. Face the anxiety. Own your goals. 🩵🏃‍♀️
