Miyo kisikaw! My heart is absolutely full and proud to be a part of sparking health, healing and movement within our communities carried forward with so many amazing fellow Indigenous Runners across Turtle Island. We affectionately and passionately call this movement RunConciliAction. 🧡

We want to bring hope, inspiration and endless encouragement for our communities to continue and to start their running journey to practice Miyo-pimâtisiwin, "living the good life". Because we believe Running is Healing, Running is Ceremony and Running is Medicine 🌱

Thankful for and Proud of ALL 7 of our @indigenousrunner Team who courageously traveled to Javelina Jundred 2024 desert race, excited and anxious and left as proud and inspired FINISHERS!

To these warrior women @roxannemarie.b (an absolute honor to be your Pacer) and @millypostspics, Congratulations on your epic 100km buckle!! 🙌🏽❤️❤️ There was Joy watching you do something I first hand know is insanely hard. The heat and distance was a beast you fought and won over. Be Proud. Your beautiful families certainly are as we all are! WELL DONE!! ♥️ Once a 100k finisher, always a 100k Finisher! #ultrarunners

A special shoutout to my son Ashton 💙 who came in first in his age group and was the youngest 31.5k Finisher this year at 16 years old!! So so proud of you, babyson. Thank you Aunty Alethea and my son Josh who made sure he wasn't alone and kept his spirits up and his feet dancing through the night ♥️♥️♥️ So grateful

We had family by our side who are our biggest cheerleaders and beautiful new and old friends who showed us what a great community we are blessed to have as we continue to grow and be in these spaces because #togetherwerise . Thank you, dear Friends!

These race especially has my respect. Places of honor were given to minority running groups and we ourselves had the privilege of being included. Thank you, Jubilee and Team! It is with a grateful heart that we travel home to continue to pay it forward ❤️

Keep Running, keep walking, hiking. All of it Nitotemitik because Movement is Medicine, and we deserve to be there amongst the dreams of our ancestors fighting for our health and land back one step at a time.

My first trail run, and what a way to start. 🏃🏽‍♀️🌲
One of the coolest, most thrilling, humbling experiences ever. My heart is so full — grateful for a happy, healthy body that lets me try new things, experience something completely out of my comfort zone, meet new cool people, do something I love, and make memories that I know I’ll carry with me forever.

There was something so special about running through the trails, taking in the views, pushing through the hard parts, and crossing that finish line. Getting to do my first trail run as part of a relay team made it even more fun — there’s something pretty special about pushing each other, cheering each other on, and crossing that finish line together. 🫶🏽

And getting to experience it surrounded by Indigenous runners and representation made it that much more meaningful. There’s something really special about seeing ourselves out there.

A huge thank you to @danika_alethea, @runswiththewind, @indigenousrunner for putting this together, inviting me along, and making me feel so welcome. I’m so grateful I got to be a part of it. 🤎🪶 taken in Grande Cache by @runswiththewind

The Indigenous Runners Alliance is so very proud to have 5 ALL INDIGENOUS teams taking on the legendary @canadiandeathrace on Treaty 8 Territory this weekend! FIVE teams Running TOGETHER when for so long many of were often times alone. To say our hearts are immensely full is an understatement. ♥️

The Canadian Death Race is one of the world's most iconic ultramarathons, covering 118 km of rugged mountain terrain with over 17,000 feet of elevation change through the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Grande Cache, Alberta on Treaty 8 Territory. It is a race that demands resilience, courage, and respect for the land and INDIGENOUS REPRESENTATION!

This year we wanted to bring together even more amazing Indigenous Runners together and are deeply honoured to welcome our relatives from the DeadlyRunners all the way from Australia, Navajo runner Sky Tulley, and incredible Indigenous runners representing so many of our Nations from across Turtle Island and beyond. At Indigenous Runners Alliance we believe in celebrating our many Nations and running relatives. When colonization has torn our communities apart and demanded us to divide we push against it in solidarity.

Together, we gather in running ceremony, community, and connection, sharing stories, culture, strength, and the healing power of movement because Movement is MEDICINE! And Running is Ceremony 🌱

This is more than a race this to us this year. It is a celebration of Indigenous excellence, kinship, and the commitment to RunConciliAction!

Moose is Loose Half Marathon 🫎

A few of our Directors from the Indigenous Runners Alliance hit some of our favourite trails today in YEG, enjoying an incredible morning on the land while getting in some important training ahead of the Canadian Death Race next weekend.

There's nothing better than sharing miles, building community, and preparing together for the adventures ahead.

A huge thank you to @runningroomedm for hosting another fantastic event and to @showtime.yummies for the putting on such a fun race!! We appreciate your support of our running community and a huge shoutout to the wonderful volunteers and our crew! No one runs alone when the ancestors are near as
