What makes a team?

It’s not wearing the same shirt.
It’s not running the same pace.
It’s not even crossing the same finish line.

It’s showing up for each other.
Pushing when someone is struggling.
Celebrating every win like it’s your own.
And making sure no one feels like they’re running alone 🩵

We may run as individuals, but we move forward as one.

That’s what a @runwithprt means to us 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

And today, we brought that energy to the 46th Calgary Police Half Marathon! 🏁

Thank you @runcalgary @calgarypolice for bringing Calgary’s running community together and giving us another reason to run, cheer, and celebrate together ❤️🔥🍻

What is running?

It’s more than pace, distance, or finish times.
It’s showing up, pushing limits, and becoming stronger.

And team running?
It’s doing all of that together🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🩵

We run. We connect. We grow.
Together, every mile means more.

Earlier this year, Run Calgary was honoured to induct these remarkable individuals into the Calgary Marathon Society Hall of Fame.

Please join us in celebrating this group and their invaluable contributions to the Calgary running community! 🥳

Thank you for making Calgary’s running community stronger, more welcoming, and more connected.

Mary O’Regan

Outstanding Contribution to the Calgary Running Community (Posthumous)

For more than 20 years, Mary was a familiar and beloved presence at Run Calgary events as a lead and tail cyclist. Her steady presence at the front and unwavering support at the back ensured thousands of participants felt confident, cared for, and never alone on course. Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered at our start line.

Jeremy & Jeanette Deere

Outstanding Contribution to the Calgary Running Community

Through Strides Running Stores, run clubs, mentorship, events, and philanthropy, Jeremy and Jeanette have helped shape the heart and soul of Calgary’s running community through decades of unwavering passion, leadership, and generosity. The Deeres have created a community where generations of Calgary runners have found belonging.

Raymond Yong

Jim Clampett Volunteer of the Year

No matter the role, weather, challenge, or hour, Raymond consistently shows up with positivity, professionalism, and a willingness to do whatever is needed to help the team succeed, even if that means scrapping horse poop from the marathon route. His consistency, kindness, and team-first attitude embody the very best of our volunteer community.

Mahdi Ghorbani

Community Builder Scholarship

Mahdi has created a deeply diverse and connected community that reflects Calgary itself, bringing together newcomers and long-time residents in a supportive, judgment-free environment. Mahdi has grown the PRT community to 450 members, creating an inclusive space for runners of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. taken in Calgary, Alberta by @runwithprt
