NPR के Editor in Chief Tommy Evans और Executive Editor Krishna Dev Calamur के साथ .

#sansadchalo20july by @rupajha

It was truly an honour to be part of the jury for this year’s Media Foundation awards—an experience that reaffirmed why journalism matters, now more than ever.
Each story we read carried courage, conviction and an unwavering commitment to truth.
Heartfelt congratulations to @annavetticad, winner of the Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Media Person of the Year.
Deep admiration for @sukanyashantha, recipient of the Visha Nath–Delhi Press Award for Fearless Journalism, and to @shivnarayan01 for the Special Mention—voices that remind us what fearless journalism looks like.
Congratulations to @NidhiSuresh_ for the Kamla Mankekar Award for Journalism on Gender, and to @ekta_sonawane and @teajust for their Special Mentions—powerful storytelling that centres voices too often unheard.
Grateful to @FreeMedia_In for keeping the spirit of independent, courageous journalism alive. by @rupajha

It was meant to be a conversation on a subject very close to my heart—Why the Constitution Matters—with Justice D.Y. Chandrachud at the Kerala Literature Festival. That couldn’t happen due to his ill health, and I was disappointed and wanted to cancel my trip but am glad I didn’t ! .

What I discovered instead was a beautifully curated festival—thoughtful, grounded, and alive with ideas. The lineup itself was mind-blowing—so many writers, so many voices, across the globe, across languages and traditions.

But what truly enriched the experience was meeting them beyond the stage—over breakfast, lunch, and dinner—finding the other side of these writers- unguarded, curious, generous in conversation.

What stayed with me most was the audience—young people, students, especially young Muslim women listening intently, asking questions, staying through sessions. This wasn’t a lit fest as a hangout only ; it was a lit fest as engagement.

Thank you to @dcbooks @keralalitfest , and to Ravi and Govind, for having me. And listening to Sunita Williams, with her humour, warmth, and effortless connection with children, was a joy.

Kerala Lit Fest deserves to be talked about far more. I hope it grows leaps and bounds. by @rupajha
