Sometimes, choosing to remain silent or to not resist outwardly can be intentional, even liberating, especially when it comes from inner clarity or strength rather than helplessness. A quiet defiance or a dignified boundary, which is a compelling paradox. Acquiescence is not always passive.

Figments

There is the
me in me
that never dies,
looking for the
you in you
that I always know.

And when
something touches
my heart and soul
I realise it has
to be you.
Though I know
that all that is
not meant for me
is You too.
It has to be
coz none,
but You exist.
Whether beautiful
or ugly,
the perfection
of everything is You. .
And the imperfect too.

Sometimes you feel
so real that
You make everything
else seem unreal.
Sometimes You feel
like another life,
one that I haven’t
led before,
and everything
feels so dead.

Am I a figment
of my imagination
or are you a
figment of mine.

Covered by the darkness
where all the shadows meet.
I’m all the different people
that they use for the landfill.
Say whatever you need to,
coz tomorrow isn’t coming.
Look at the final sunset,
sunrise isn’t coming.
Getting wasted with the shadows, it’s my bachelorette.
This is the black wedding that
I’ve been waiting for.
Who has put
man eating flowers
on my grave.
Sing me the lullaby,
the dirge that lulls me to sleep.
It’s a beautiful day to live today,
so I’m leaving the world to you.
Covered by the darkness where
all the shadows meet.
I’ll be the landfill,
maybe I’ll come back one day
when there’s a landslide,
when all the shadows meet.

It is not losing that hurts the most, it is the not grieving over the loss. Sometimes you have to call it even for the living.

If words could convey,
I would have told you
long ago.
What you couldn’t read,
what I couldn’t write, let it flow from
the eyes.

Of what use is the poem that I have to recite to the world,
Of what use is the dream that depends on sleep. What I couldn’t recite, what you couldn’t see, let it flow from
the eyes.

Lafzon mein gar bayan kar sakte to kab ka
keh diya hota.
jo na padh sake wo,
jo na likh sake hum
use aankhon se beh jaane do.

Wo ghazal hi kya jo zamane ko sunai jaye. Wo khwab hi kya jo neend ka talabgaar ho,
jo suna na sake hum,
jo na dekh sake wo, use aankhon se beh jaane do.

P.S.
and I ask for one more thing, learn to make coffee the way that I like it.

As I grow older I stop looking for a home in people and houses. All I want is to declutter, too much baggage in the house and under the eyes. One by one, as I give it all away, what remains is what I can’t give away, that which money didn’t buy. It comes down to you.

Then I realise that you never left, you stayed on as my aloneness, which is why I never missed you. Maybe that is why I never gave you away.
It doesn’t matter how often the universe walks in and out of me, as long as I have my aloneness. by @rupaljaisingh
