Out of My Fishbowl
for my dear friend. I miss you.
cw: suicide

This comic is inspired by my favourite drawings my friend made !!! The last slide is a page from a journal I kept with them when we were 14 !! :) They were such an incredible artist and inspired me in so many ways, to find myself and love freely !! Without them, I don’t know if I’d still be drawing today. Sometimes I think art saved my life, and they played a huge part in that.

It’s the 4 year anniversary of my friend’s passing, and this is probably the first time I’ve fully allowed myself to process the grief. I can’t believe it took me this long. Thank you to my friends for encouraging me throughout the process of making this and being there for me when I’m hurting lol !! I really wouldn’t have finished it without you guys :) 🫶

If you’re going through a hard time, please remember, you are so loved !!! more than you might realize !! and this world needs you in it ! Things can feel unbearably heavy, but they don’t stay the same forever. It always gets better I PROMISE !!!!! by @rustyblender

I was rewatching aot and it sent me on a nostalgia binge ahhdhdbjs IM NEVER DRAWINF AOT AGAIN LMAAAOOAOO BUT I HAD SMTJ TO PROVE TO MYSELF GUYS,,,,,, when I was in grade 7 (2017) there was this REALLY KUUL girlie in my class who was also an artist and I wanted to be her fren SOOO BAD,, so what did I do?? MY RESEARCH !!!! I knew she loved anime so I started watching aot and it was my first manga and I MADE RLLY EMBARRASINGJ CRINGE FANART FOR IT TOO,,, (even tho I hadn't drawn in months at this point lmfaaoo),,, all to become her fren,, and it FREAKING WORKED DAWG!!!!! we became best frens for like years and I got back into making art because of her ahvdhdbshdbdhdbh NEWAYS !!! moral of the story : IDK MAYBE dont be afraid to draw cringe,, you can make some rlly kuul frens doing that LOLOLOLOLL
