Ganga's Cremation🕯️
.
From the movie: Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) 🎬
.
In this scene, Ganga cremates her old self. Reborn as Gangu (later Gangubai), she's determined to reclaim her agency and fight for the rights of those in Kamathipura. The cinematography in this move was so amazing, I wish I could've drawn every frame TOT)/ <3
.
Thanks @rustyblender for introducing this film to me!! It was the first Bollywood movie I remember watching in full (better late than never) and we spent like 5h watching a 2.5h movie because we kept going on tangents about Indian culture/history as she answers my questions XD This one's dedicated to her <3 !!
.
Also also, that scene was so beautiful I legitimately entered a flow state drawing it XD It took about 8h (which is fast for me) & I was able to just eyeball all the colours ehehe ...
.
Yes, I know I gotta not be lazy and use more references & theory instead of banking on my flow states ... but flow states do be fun :P
.
I legit wanna get more into Bollywood and/or media from India. If anyone has more good recs, please lmk :3

Ive been a drawing storm this month so here a compilation of some recent works rather than a New Years illustration

1-4, 🎄 Christmas gifts for friends
5-6, the honor of first page doodle for
@angel_bun1 💞
7-10, a magma board with my my celebrity crushes
omg Kyaa >,< (im never doing that again, they
bring out the worst I swear)
(Anyway the binghe insanity- i mean creativity is
flowing ((unfortunately)) I forget all who joined +
some dont have an Instagram so forgive me for
not crediting everyone (Herb, Jenty, Nemi, <33)

◇ And to be strangely sappy this year, thank you to everyone who's been watching along as I continue to develop the way I want to.
◇ I can happily say that ive met my long term goal from my childhood of being able to express my love for media in a way that im proud of
◇ excited to see how I progress with my next goal of improving my illustrations 💪💪

🥂 Cheers to 2024 everyone, may 2025 develope well!
