Spent the past couple of days working on a big mono print. Thinking about mechanic and organic connectors, information conduits, tubing scaffold, neurons and nodes to create forms with volume and flux. FLOURISH 2025

Have you been to see our latest exhibition at WYPW at the Piazza Centre Huddersfield?

Here’s a sneak peek of the wonderful work produced by 14 individual shortlisted artists that were selected by our judges for this year’s competition.

We’re open today 10.30-3.30pm so do pop in to take a look at this inspiring exhibition.

Selected from open submission, the 14th Flourish Award for Excellence in Printmaking brings together a diverse range of printmaking by selected artists from across the UK, presented in venues in the north of England in 2025/26, starting in Huddersfield.

This years winner Emma Jackson @emmajackson.art is featured as the cover of this reel.

@tildatribbeck_prints won the Student/Graduate Award

@ruth.uglow won second place for the Hawthorne Award

@wylliesue won third place for the Intaglio Award

This years shortlisted artists:

Inga Eicaite, Anupa Gardner, Layla Jabbari, Nobuo Okawa, Clare Phelan, Janet Sang, Euan G Stewart, Sylvia Waltering, Richard William Wheater, Qinlin Yang

The exhibition is currently showing at WYPW at the Piazza Huddersfield, until the 21st September before going on tour.

We are delighted to announce Emma Jackson as the winner of the Flourish Award for Excellence in Printmaking 2025 congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.

We also extend our congratulations to the additional award winners:
• Ruth Uglow- Hawthorn Printmaker’s Award (Second Place)
• Sue Wyllie- Intaglio Printmaker’s Award (Third Place)
• Tilda Tribbeck- Student / Recent Graduate Award

Our sincere thanks to all the shortlisted artists whose outstanding work made this year’s selection process such a rewarding challenge.

We are incredibly grateful to our 2025 judging panel: Yasmin Canvin, Grant Scanlan, and Lucy May Schofield, for their expertise, thoughtful deliberation, and continued support of contemporary printmaking.

New drawing, mono prints from the studio. When removing the ink from the plate I instinctively respond to the shape of the line that emerges.

A great show and pv @burtonatbideford ‘Melting Ice Rising Tides’ @emmastibbon showing drawings and prints that bares witness to the impact of climate change, from the polar region to our #northdevoncoastline I hadn’t fully realised the impact here given that I’ve always felt that our geology was able to withstand the power of the waves but there is erosion happening as Emma has shown on the #abbotshamcliffs near Bideford and all around this area as I’m sure around the rest of the UK coastline as the waves get more powerful with rising temperatures and sea levels.
