The IOPE (International Original Print Exhibition) 6-16th Nov opened last night at Bankside Gallery.

The opening speeches by David Ferry PRE & Nicola Hicks MBE (Artist & President AGBI) pic1. Thanks to the other selectors Sophie Heath (Director, Sidney Nolan Trust), Leonie Bradley (Artist & Editor, Printmaking Today), Marianne Ferm (RE Vice President) for picking my work:
BENDING MORE LINES - ONCE AGAIN [Till They Crack] (BML-OA[TTC]) VII, a hybrid print (etching, monoprint, thermochromic ink, stitch with UV thread).

Meanwhile 2 other works in this series (BML-OA[TTC]) XXVIII & XXIX pic are at the Printmakers Council 60th Anniversary celebrations – Little Gems in Cambridge at 2 galleries curated by Jim Anderson RE:
The Gallery Above and Beyond & Linton Art Studio 1 Nov-13 Dec.

This is a series based on cracks & drips within my home, due to leaks in the roof & ceiling with my DIY skills with make do mend & repair techniques. Trying to see beauty within imperfections, chasing rainbows after the rain.

“I’m Always Chasing Rainbows” (the original track with delicious ambient audio crackles) is a popular Vaudeville song. The music credited to Harry Carroll, melody adapted from Fantaisie-Impromptu by Frédéric Chopin. The lyrics by Joseph McCarthy published 1917 & Broadway show Oh, Look! 1918. Sadly not available to use here-so I chose the Beverley Sisters version, a nod to my kids who won a vocal duet award-singing Irving Berlin’s SISTERS. Blood harmonies are the best😉.

Other shows opening soon:
